Winston Salem Reflection
My volunteer work at the Children’s Museum of Winston-Salem is definitely the consistent extracurricular activity I participate. I have been volunteering since Freshman year and summer camp and miscellaneous programs that occur throughout the school year. I love seeing the joy and excitement that the children bring to the interactive demonstrations created at the museum.

    The years I spent in middle school and high school have opened my eyes to the field of Social Work. I volunteered whenever I got the chance. I was in Student Council and from that, I donated a lot of my time to help with that and other organizations. Throughout those years, I was rewarded my senior year with an award for the most community service hours. My father works for the Michigan State Police, and through him, I volunteered with a lot of organizations through NCRESA. Halloween Hallow, Santa’s story book, and Kids Day were all different events that I volunteered for an absolutely loved. Now, I am a junior and I have still kept busy with volunteering. My freshmen year, taking SW100, we were required to do 15 hours of community service. I volunteered my 15 hours at the Marquette Jacobetti Veterans Center. Volunteering there has very much impacted my life. Whenever I went to see the veterans I was so thankful to them. Listening to their stories has been one of my favorite volunteer memories. In fact, my older sister Jennifer and I are thinking about going and talking to the volunteer coordinator to see if we can come back and continue.
