Shakespeare was affected by his society between 1500-1600 and his writing shows how he lived and events at that time. Shakespeare wrote about his century in his poems, plays, and other fictions. It shows that he was a great writer at that time and until now. Shakespeare’s past effects his writing as well as impacts our society today. His most famous work is Romeo and Juliet
William Shakespeare’s writing was effected by his past. William Shakespeare was born on April, 26, 1564. John and Mary Shakespeare’s third son. Shakespeare had 6 siblings. Most of his siblings died before twenty from disease (Wikipedia (n.d.)). William Shakespeare went to Stratford New Grammar School which is just 20 minutes far away from his home (Absolute Shakespeare (n.d.)). When he went to school, he learned Latin Grammar. However, Shakespeare and his classmates would have read the Roman playwrights, Terence and Roman poets (Absolute Shakespeare (n.d.)). His writings were affected by Roman cultures. His father wanted him to be a business man like himself after graduation, but William did not want to be a businessman. He was on the play team. He was an actor and wrote many of plays at that time. His experiences and his environmental conditions affected his life (Absolute Shakespeare (n.d.)). Also in 16th century, English became as respected as French and Latin languages. At that time, English playwrights or poets used French or Latin. When Shakespeare started to use English in his writings. Shakespeare also used philosophy, theology, and theology in his plays. Shakespeare added 20,138 words to the English language (Wikipedia(n.d.)). Not only did Shakespeare’s past affect his writing but it effects society today.
