Why I Want to Work in Human Capital Management
WHY I WANT TO WORK IN HUMAN CAPITAL MANAGEMENT

My personal mission is to help create and foster a caring environment that motivates members of that commune to have a sense of belongingness and hence seek to contribute maximally towards the development of that same environment.

It is my opinion that it will take the individuals within an organization working together, harnessing all available resources and deploying same optimally to attain its vision. This will not occur except employees have the sense of belonging and ownership in the organization.

I desire to join the Human Capital Management Unit of this organization first and foremost because of my understanding of the vision and mission and how it ties in with my aspirations.

In my perception, the HCM team plays a critical role in helping any organization achieve its goals for the following reasons; • HCM manages and seeks to maximize the output of the Bank’s most important asset: the Human Capital. • Also derived from the first, is that HCM is at the foundation of helping formulation, interpretation and implementation of policies as it affects the welfare of members of staff in the organization. This in turn serves as a key driver of highly motivated behaviour and positive work attitudes.

I chose to pursue a Masters program in Human Resources since I already possessed a passion for seeking ways to enhance productivity through a creation of a conducive work environment, my thought being that while passion was alright, possession of knowledge and technical know-how will greatly improve my methods in the pursuit of my goals. An MBA sets me on the right path for this and I am willing to continually engage in self-development to enhance my ability to contribute meaningfully to First Bank.

By requesting for a transfer to HCM, I seek for opportunity to practice professionally my mission, rather than in an ad-hoc manner, this I believe will help me find fulfillment in the organization I

To put it in the simplest of terms, the primary function of HRM is to manage the organization’s employees. Employees are the most valuable asset in an organization. Machines, technology, and the best products and services would not exist without the human assets. “People—not buildings, equipment, or brand names—make a company” (DeCenzo & Robbins, 2007. p. 32). Expanding on the primary function of HRM involves four separate main functions of staffing, training and development, motivation, and maintenance.…
