Why I Should Participate In This Public Speaking Workshop

In my opinion, the definition of excel student is the student who can take and grab all the opportunity around them. Excel student is also the student who are willing to learn. When we talked about public speaking, the previous generation said it's a talent and art. So it can't be learn or master by other people.

But I do believe good public speaking is not a mystery. Public speaking is not hard and it is not complicated but I need someone to show me how's public speaking will be done. Because of that thing I'm pretty sure by participating this workshop will improve and polish my public speaking skill.

The reason that I want to include myself in this workshop is to develop my public speaking confidence. A lots of people can think and talk when there a alone but not much people can do that and express it in front with the audience. Public speaking is important when I'm still a university student and it also useful when I'm going to finish my university life. In university I'm going to use in presentation in certain subject and also will use it during the work interview.

Student who is excel in their study and also have a good skill in public speaking will have a better social relation with others. will be better. This type of student will not hesitate when approaching new friend. Having a lots of friend mean gain more experience and a also increase the knowledge. So usually it will lead to be brave in express the feeling or opinion to others in appropriate ways. In addition, these student also have the spirit to lead and help others with the source that they have.

Good public speaking will change the world from zero to hero. For instance, the public speaking which held at Safa in Mecca by Prophet Muhammad change the Arab People from nothing and finally lead to the conquer of two thirds of the world. This event prove to me being a good speaker and have a good public

I went the first day, so I don’t have a recording to look at. Even though I cannot see my speech I still realized some of my strengths and weaknesses. Some of my weaknesses consisted of: bad transition words, sounding shaky within the introduction, and time. My strengths consisted of: good movement, good tone, good statistics, and good eye contact. To start off my introduction I was very nervous, and I don’t know for sure, but I think the audience could tell. My transition into my first main point was not the best, but once I was in my first main point I was able to settle and really stroll through the rest of my speech. Within my speech I was able to incorporate many statistics to make my point why horse slaughter is needed although I am still…

Over the years I’ve witnessed to some gifted public speakers. People like Ted Kennedy (yes I’m met him a few times) who had a power and forcefulness to his voice that painted mental imagery so strong you would swear you can see his words. John Bingham from Runner Magazine, he had jokes, but could captivate his audience through a shared passion that made strangers feel like they knew each other. Retired Chief Terry Savoie who delivered a speak at an awards banquet with the slogan “life ain’t fair…win anyway”. All three of these people had one thing in common, a message. They had the ability to deliver a message to their audience. Their vision became yours. You could see the images they described like a paint hanging in a museum, beautiful and…

I used dread the discomfort that arose from public speaking and avoided every class presentation, which to my frustration, resulted in missing exciting opportunities. During my sophomore year of high school, I chose to take a speech class to embrace speaking opportunities instead of shying away from them. The first few days of class were nerve-racking, but steadily I gained more skill and confidence in my speaking abilities. Towards the close of sophomore year, I stepped into a leadership role, despite my previous anxieties. In a 100-student mock trial, I confidently presented the opening and closing statements for the defense.…

Before I started this class, if someone would have asked me if I wanted to give a speech in front of a large audience, I would have laughed in their face. But in reflection of my semester in speech class, I would now jump at the chance to talk in front of an audience. True, it is partially because I enjoy making a fool of myself, but it is in large part due to the fact that talking to people in a structured manner, such as a speech just doesn't scare the bejusus out of me like it did before I enrolled in this class. Why is that? Why does public speaking scare people? I feel that many people just don't understand the fundamentals. First off, things go much smoother if your audience finds you credible. Next, your delivery is just as important as your material. A nervous speaker with accurate facts is just as foolish as a smooth-talker spouting nonsense. Properly delivering your message to your audience is the only way to keep the audience's attention, because they are just as much involved in the speech as you are. Getting them to listen to you, and only you is vital; always leave them intrigued and impressed with a quality conclusion.…
