Why We Should Be Able To Check Lockers
Would you like it if the school went through your locker and personal belongings without reason. All over lockers are checked without a good reason. I feel that schools should not be able to check our lockers without proof that we have something or that they believe we do.If students are going to school they are going to learn.

If students are going to school then they are trying to learn not harm others. The kids wouldn’t be having their parents pay for their school unless they actually wanted to learn. Most of the students are preparing to go to college or prepare for a specific job. For most jobs there are lots of specific things that you need to do to qualify for the job. If the kids don’t want to learn then they wouldn’t be going to school they would have dropped out.

Schools shouldn’t be able to check students lockers because they could have personal belongings in there. They might have pictures of family and friends that they don’t want broken or moved. Even though it is the schools locker it is the students to use throughout the year. Lots of people have little mirrors and things that could be easily broken.

Angerstein-Guzman I feel that this is how it should happen if there is reason for suspicion then they should

On the contrary, the school is subject to keeping their student's safe because that is the reassurance given to parents. In order to do that the school must eliminate anything dangerous within its walls. Randomized searches in theory seem unfair, but are the only effective means of attaining the purpose of them. The goal in any search is to catch any illegal activity. If students were notified of these searches, they would be able to prepare their property in accordance to the law. Randomized police dog searches are in reality the only effective way of eliminating illegal activity in…

The argument against backpacks is now justified because students can keep back packs with them and nobody will get hurt. Teachers can set up a designated area for backpacks to got to prevent tripping or any injuries during the school day. Students backpacks will no longer lay about and cause a potential threat to students and teachers safety. We can place them in certain areas of the classroom so that we to continuously ensure the safety of faculty and students. Also back packs pose no greater danger with weapons and or drugs then students everyday purses, gym bags, or even laptop bags. Those items can be just as dangerous as any book bag out there. A bag is a bag, so if you're allowing gym bags, purses or anything of the sort consider that the threat may still remain without backpacks. Last of all having backpacking during emergencies would speed up any the safety procedure since your backpack would be right there with you at all times during the day. The lockers have been given to the students expecting them to take care of it and being responsible over it. What is the need to go through it? I have been given a locker since sixth grade and never once has a teacher much less a principle gone through my locker. If they were to go through my locker it would make me feel like i'm a suspect for something I have no connection with.On our way into school each day student’s book bags are checked each day. There have even been instances in which the security guards have taken over an hour to go through the student's belongings, while teachers, administrators and principals go through without being checked not only is it hypocritical but unjust. Teenagers should be given the benefit of the doubt. I have been present in an event where a teacher unjustifiably read his messages out loud after his phone rang in class without him even having it in his hands. It wasn't in the teacher’s responsibility nor authority to go through his messages much less reveal his messages. We are called the next generation yet we are restricted to are given liberty's by others insecurities. I appreciate why you feel the need to eradicate lockers. Through research excluding lockers help eliminate places to stash weapons or drugs, hallways are quieter, kids get to class sooner giving teachers more time with them, and staff can do their jobs rather than usher kids and fixing lockers. These are all respectable reasons for repudiating lockers, but this story is not a fairy tale, it is a story of real life and the ending is not always happy. It has been said that lockers are a fad in the past. These traditions need to be left in the past. Realistically, many fads come…

    Guns in School

There should be no guns in class room. Because it may cause more violence in the school and cause more school shootings. Kids may find the gun and use it against others. Also some younger kids may feel threatened with a gun in the class room. However assuming that any teacher and kid would not go on a killing spree yes it could be a good idea, but considering most school shooting are caused by children/teens it is not a logic idea. We do not need more guns in schools I personally think that we need less guns in schools these days. There is no valid reason for there to be guns in schools unless it is owned by a police officer. Guns in schools lead to negative things and it should not happen. Say you have a fresh-faced, doe-eyed new teacher, 22 years old and starting their first day as a teacher. Now you've handed them a firearm and tell them that they have to have this gun with them at all times. Now the teacher might have a background with guns and be OK with that, but maybe they don't. Perhaps they're one of these 'pansy liberals' that get so much flack in the circles that think they should be armed. Well this teacher now has to make a decision, should they carry a gun on themselves and be forced to keep the student at arms length, thus hampering the learning environment, or should they simply let a multitude of kids get right up against the weapon? Well obviously we shouldn't be giving kids the opportunity to get at the weapon, and we don't want to hamper the learning experience, so let's give the teacher a gun safe to put it in. Now a few months pass and this safe is opened once or twice to check on the gun, because after all gun violence is still very minimal in the US despite what people on FB might shout. However this safe has to be readily available so that the teacher can get to it in times of emergency, but that means it's also readily available to curious and mischievous kids too. A kid will find a way to get into any locked compartment if they are…

Lockers will help hold out stuff. When ever I bring my lunch box to school I barely have anymore hands to carry my books, water bottle or thermos, PE clothes, and sometimes my Ceramics projects. So when I have to hold so many things they sometimes fall out of my hands. The metal thermos gets dents, books get grass and dirt stains, ceramic projects crack, PE clothes get even dirtier, and the lunch box gets scratched. If I had a locker I would put my books in there until I needed them. I would…
