Smoking in public places causes a considerable number of sicks to people and the government should be doing more to protect its citizens. Smoking has several harmful effects on the body. Cigarettes cause a lot of sicks and are responsible for deaths resulting from cancer. People who have smoked for a significant period of time will have noticeable problems breathing and will most likely be in poor health. One out of four deaths of people result from smoking.
On the average, every cigarette takes five and a half minutes of life away from a smoker. Although restrictions have been placed on the use of cigarettes in public areas such as restaurants and airplanes.
Cigarettes cause health problems in smokers as well as nonsmokers. They harm adults as they do youth. Although smoking has only negative effects on the body, the use of cigarettes is legal while other drugs are banned. Most products proven dangerous are banned or recalled. Cigarettes should be no different.

Smoking should be banned. Smoking is a practice in which a substance, most commonly tobacco or cannabis, is burned and the smoke is tasted or inhaled. The most common method of smoking today is through cigarettes, primarily industrially manufactured but also hand-rolled from loose tobacco and rolling paper. Today we are more aware about how bad smoking is for our health. Smoking is one of the leading killers in the world and innocent people shouldn't die because of it. For years people have been smoking in public places, but now that it has been proven that smoking not only affect the smoker, also those around him or her, they should not be allowed to smoke around other people in public.Smoking should be banned or restricted in almost all public places because it has been shown to be dangerous to health, it can reduced athletic performance and it can lead to bad skin, bad breath and bad-smelling clothes and hair.

A smoker’s skin, nails and teeth are stained and his breath is stink like smoke. For female smokers, their cervix, and uterus are vulnerable to cancer. They might also develop fertility difficulties. For pregnant female smokers, it incurs premature birth, miscarriage and sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).
