Why Should The Driving Age Stay At 16

Should the legal driving age stay at 16? Despite what people might think, most car accidents aren’t caused by the age of the driver. Car accidents are caused by the lack of experience or knowledge of the road. Sixteen is the perfect age to drive because it’s the age where teenagers start to mature and learn how to deal with responsibility. Driving is a necessary part of life. Teenagers drive themselves to school and to work, they help pick up a bit of the responsibilities their parents have like grocery shopping or just simply helping drive someone around and they need a sense of freedom. There’s a certain point in life when parents stop driving their children to school. Or more specifically, high school. From experience, witnessing parents jump through hoops to make sure their kid gets to school on time is a bit sad and can make anyone pity them. Especially since it’s so avoidable. A child of sixteen should be able to drive themselves to school. This helps children became responsible in life. What if the teenager has a job? How would they get to work without a license if they had no transportation? Parents aren’t chauffeurs and teenagers need to learn they shouldn't always rely on their parents to drive them everywhere.
Being able to drive would help parents out a ton. Parents work all day and then come home only to work some more. Allowing the legal age to drive to stay at sixteen, the youth could step up and help. They would be able to run errands when their mom or dad are too busy and drive their siblings or someone else when necessary. What if an emergency happened at home and someone needed medical attention but an adult wasn’t home? Without a driver’s license the young person wouldn’t be able to properly help the ill
