Imagine a world where people became sick and cannot recover from a disease that was once almost completely eradicated from the United States and many parts of the world, all because parents stop vaccinating their children. This has happened in England and can and will happen here in the United States and around the world if the trend of parents choosing to not have their children vaccinated against infectious diseases continues. Children should be vaccinated for the continued safety of the general population, as it helps prevent near extinct diseases from resurfacing.
If parents chose not to vaccinate their children, they need to understand the risks they are taking, not just with their own children but others as well and the issues this can cause. Some of the issues are sick children missing school and parents missing work to care for their children, not mention the toll on the people suffering the disease, which could result in deafness, paralysis, other physical disabilities or even death.
