I believe that students should be allowed to have their phones available to them during school hours. The administrators of our school have shunned the use of cell phones at all time during school hours. We can’t even have them within reach. If they’re not in our lockers or cars then you run the risk of it being confiscated. I believe that if administrators allow phone use in schools then grades will become much better. Some schools in Texas, including my old school, allowed phones to be used regulary. Students had much better grades than in Jenks where phone use is prohibited.…

There is more than one side to the debate about cell phone availability during school. One claim is that students should be allowed to have their phones on them and use their cell phones during appropriate times. In the article, the authors provide details about how there are numerous reasons why cell phones should be allowed during school. Students should be allowed access to cell phones, because if they are responsible enough to be going off to college in a year or so, they should be responsible enough to have a cell phone on them and use it wisely (George and Cook). One reason people should ban cell phones in, schools is that theft can occur at schools. For an example, in Bucks County, Pennsylvania four thousand dollars worth of cell phones and tablets got stolen at a school and thirteen people were arrested in that incident. Also, at that school police found over 24 devices got stolen over a two month. By sending your child to school you're basically just giving other kids an opportunity to steal your child's device.…

In conclusion, when considering all of the negative impacts on students as a result of using their cell phones during class, there is no doubt that schools should not opt to allow them. It is proven that cell phones are not beneficial to students in school, they are a major distraction for students, leading them to poor academic performance. Also, students also need cell phones just in case of an emergency. If there was a tornado or earthquake, how would the parent/guardian know if the student was alright. Also, if there was an intruder, the student could call 911 to alert the authorities. It’s no doubt the school systems are taking precautions about these unexpected events but just to be safe, we should allow cell phones in school. It’s very important that we redact these rules.…

The amazing thing about cell phones is that they are no longer just used for calling or texting. They have become an essential multi-tool wonder. Today’s cell phone is cutting-edge technology at your fingertips. While students do understand the apprehension of faculty to allow cells phone use school, we too have reasons why the use of cell phones in school can be a positive thing. Should Cell Phones Be Allowed In Schools? Cell phones are everywhere! Almost everyone has one. Why should they not be allowed to be used for school use and learning? Although cell phones can be a major distraction to many students while working on school work, they can also come in handy in all sorts of ways. Many schools are against phones and are taking them away from students for having them out, but I believe that they should be allowed in schools. Almost all schools have to buy laptops for students to be able to research things. This wastes the money that they could be using to make their school better and more beautiful for the kids. Cell phones in schools could also help some students learn in many ways like using the dictionary. People have many ways that they can learn in and every mind is different. Some students like to be able to check their facts and record the lesson they learned to help them learn. Cell phones in school also help musical learners focus and the internet has many of learning songs for all ages.…

One reason that cell phones should not be allowed in school is that it is a big responsibility. Teachers in class need to monitor what students are searching up and not teaching the lesson. Also schools are not responsible for any damaged electronics or accessories which might come as a surprise to kids who bring their phones to school. Finally, you can’t expect a child to turn off a cell phone, put it in their backpack, and not have the urge to check it if it is allowed at school.…

Cell Phones Dear Mr President (AKA RICHARD KELLY GAGE lll) The school systems in America today are riddled with violence. If students' didn’t have technology such as phones they would not be able to contact their parents in a state of emergency such as shootings, injures, or bombings. this policy of taking students' phones away at the start of the day and giving them back at the end of the day should not be put into effect. The policy could possibly cause students to be put into harmful situations for longer periods of time.…

Cell phones Banned in School? Cell phones are a big part of everyday use, especially nowadays, to keep in touch with family, friends, relatives, co-workers, and pretty much anyone you communicate with. Cell phone technology is advancing everyday equipping phones with built-in cameras, internet, text messaging, translators, calculators, etc. Giving this much access to a student at the palm of their hand is the reason why cell phones are now being banned in schools. The reason is cheating. Many students figure that they don’t need to study and can still do well using their versions of modern technology to get answers off the Internet and from their friends. Therefore, if there are no cell phones, there is no cheating on tests. Since adopting this new policy, cheating levels have gone down, and focus levels have gone up. Because of students disturbing their classmates, the test scores were down but because the rule is set, focus has gone up meaning that test scores have gone up. I believe with this new rule, students will improve all around will improve their test scores because they will have much more concentration and focusing ability on whatever they are working on. Cell phones are also a huge distraction in class for the user and others around him. Students have far abused their privilege of having a phone in school. It is not fully students fault that phones have been used in such a way, as it is also the companies that provide such phones for the public. Parents may argue that their children should carry phone in school in case of emergencies, but schools have phones open for students to use in a case of an emergency. Additionally, some students do not have the privilege of having cell phones, which then sets them at a disadvantage behind other students. It would be like most of a math class being allowed to use a calculator but there isn’t enough. Wouldn’t we want all students to be treated as equals? If we allow students to use resources that are not…
