Why Racism Is Wrong Essay
Racism Racism has existed throughout human history. It may be defined as the hatred of one person by another -- or the belief that another person is less than human. Racism and discrimination have been used as powerful weapons to encourage fear or hatred of others in times of conflict and war. Racism is also a very touchy subject for some people. It happens to millions of people on a daily basis. Racism is wrong for many reasons. It can hurt people in different ways, it can make people too self-righteous and it is unfair to treat someone different because of their race. Many people believe that it depends on if a person was brought into the world as a racist or not but that is not the case at all. In fact, you cannot be born a racist but only learn to become one as they grow from child to adulthood. Many people who practice racism are raised to be a racist by their parents. They then pass those beliefs to their children which can cause fore coming generations to practice racism. This shouldn’t happen but it is impossible …show more content…
This makes people believe that they are perfect and everyone else who is not like them isn’t. People who are like that become to self- righteous and have extremely high levels of self-pride which is not a good trait to have. People like that cannot experience what positive contributes other people of different races have to offer.
Being and participating in racism is very unfair to other races. It is not right to discriminate against people because of how they look. People who are racist act as though it it’s the person or race they are discriminating against fault that they are the way they are. People are racist are very simple-minded. Why would anyone want believe in the ideas of racism. In my opinion, it is one of the most ignorant social issues in out of all the social issues that
