The United States Congress must repeal Obama Care. According to Obama Care Facts, a pro Obama Care site, Obama Care is defined as, “Obama Care (AKA the Affordable Care Act) is a US law aimed at reforming the American health care system. Obama Care’s main focus is on providing more Americans with access to affordable health insurance, improving the quality of health care and health insurance, regulating the health insurance industry, and reducing health care spending in the US.” Obama Care’s site also promised that it would be, “offering Americans a number of new benefits, rights, and protections in regards to their healthcare, and setting up a Health Insurance Marketplace where Americans can purchase federally regulated and subsidized health insurance during open enrollment. The law also expands Medicaid, improves Medicare, requires you to have coverage in 2014 and beyond, and contains some new taxes and tax breaks, among other things.” Unfortunately Obama Care has kept virtually none of its promises and done more harm to our nation than good. Ideally Obama Care sounds like a good idea until it was implemented and has wreaked havoc upon America.

The first major problem Obama Care has caused is the amount of jobs and hours that have been cut in America. The President and CEO of Health Care Studies at the Pacific Research Institute, Sally Pipes, has published multiple articles in Forbes magazine on the topic of Obama Care and has stated that according to the American Action Forum, a policy institute that provides data-driven insight to today’s defining domestic policy challenges, utilizes both in-house policy experts and a broad network of outside experts, and deploys modern communications approaches to express ideas and effectively engage policymakers, thought leaders, academics, media, and the general public, Obama Care is decreasing the pay for workers in small businesses by 22.6 billion dollars per year. The AAF study goes on to show that Obama Care’s, “regulations and increased premiums are likely responsible for American employers having shed more than 350,000 jobs. California, Florida, New York, Ohio, and Texas have each lost more than 20,000 jobs, thanks to Obamacare.” Throughout Barak Obama’s presidency he has made countless promises about lowering the unemployment rate in America when in fact, the largest policy and law he implemented does the opposite.

The next problem that Obama Care has created is the fact that the new medical device tax that was implemented is not raising as much money as promised and is actually creating even more problems for the American economy. According to the Internal Revenue Service Agency, the tax was supposed to create 1.2 billion dollars of revenue between April and September but, has failed and has only created less than three quarters of that amount. This is because of how unclear this law has been which in turn creates ample administrative errors, overpayments, and penalties. In a report that was released three months ago, the Treasury Inspector General found that Internal Revenue Services, or the IRS, is still incapable of identifying who exactly is responsible in paying the medical device tax. This has resulted in the IRS charging some businesses with over $700,000 in wrongful penalties. However many businesses are confused as well and overpaying by as much as $41.6 million and underpaying by $76 million. This is going on four years after Obama Care was passed. The problems of Obama Care simply get worse and worse as time goes on. The proper measures are not being taken to amend these detrimental problems therefore Obama Care must be repealed.

The third issue that Obama Care creates is the fact that it hurts are seniors. Obama Care does this by severely cutting Medicare. According to the national Medicare website Medicare is defined as, “the federal health...
