Why Mistakes Leading To New Colors Explained
Mistakes Leading to New Colors Many animals in the world are different sizes and colors, but we never really found out why they are those sizes and colors. For instance, we have black bears, grizzly bears, which are brown, and polar bears which are white. Nobody told us how these bears got their colors. Another unexplained colored animal is the flamingo. Why is the flamingo pink? Well, it was actually an accident that turned the flamingo pink. The flamingos were not meant to be pink. They were actually meant to be white. They were turned pink because a monkey made the mistake of pouring pink paint down onto the ground beside his house, not seeing the flamingo under his tree. He wanted to pour the paint so his yard would be more colorful, but he did not see the flamingos standing under …show more content…
For a few weeks the flamingo hated his new color, but then something excellent happened. He was walking around the watering hole and the animals were staring at him. He got very uncomfortable, but then they started complimenting him.
“I love your new color. It looks great on you.” said one of the ducks.
“Hey, would you like to spend time at the watering hole with us today?” asked the wild hog.
The flamingo was loving this new found attention. The other animals finally became friends with him. Even though it was just because he looked different now, he stayed true to himself and enjoyed the compliments. He learned to love himself even if others would not show him love. He also gained so much confidence from his misfortune. Eventually, he thanked the monkey for his mistake because it had ended up being a blessing in disguise.
Ever since that accident, flamingos have been pink. That accident also caused flamingos to be strong-spirited and confident with their appearances. Looks should not affect the way people, or in this case, animals, treat you. You should be treated by how you treat

Price 's use of imagery in her essay and the interpretation that follows shows that she believes the plastic flamingo is obviously not even fit to represent the true flamingo. Price lists the colors, "tangerine, broiling magenta, livid pink, incarnadine, fuchsia demure, Congo ruby, methyl green," in order to establish images that overwhelm the reader 's mind with bold colors. The extremely bold colors of the plastic flamingo such as "livid pink" and "broiling magenta" formulate the conclusion that the plastic flamingo could never be synonymous with the quiet, demure brilliancy of a real flamingo. Thus, once the reader has interpreted the color imagery and concluded that all of the colors are just "too much", the reader can make the connection that society is also "too much" obsessed with putting on pretenses of wealth as opposed to focusing on issues that really matter such as the preservation of the real flamingo. Price also makes use of repetition in order to express the magnitude of the plastic flamingo 's color in society. Jennifer Price states, "Washing machines, cars, and kitchen counters proliferated in passion pink, sunset pink, and Bermuda pink." By stating that the pink fad present in the plastic flamingo was also transferred into household appliances such as washing machines and kitchen counters, Price implies that the materialism and vulgarity of appearing wealthy spread into the home; the infiltration of materialism into the home meant that the desire for wealth and extravagance had also infiltrated the aspects of American life. Price 's criticism of the flamingo 's color fascination supports the essay 's idea that Americans are only satisfied by boldness and extravagance as evident in the pink coloration of household appliances because…

According to “Kids’ Room Color Wisdom: How Colors Affect Behavior”, colors have the potential to inspire, excite, soothe, heal, and even agitate human beings. The article breaks down how pink, purple, blue, red, and other colors have the potential to affect behavior. Pink has the possibility to calm down both sexes. However, most boys are not attracted to pink(Hammond 15). Purple symbolizes royalty, but it also symbolizes sensitivity, compassion, and inspiration in children. Blue, the dominant color for boys, decreases feelings of anxiety and aggression and also lowers blood pressure and heart rates(Hammond 3). Red has the ability to energize the body, excite the mind, and increase heart and breathing rates. Colors are important because they can sway thinking, change actions, and cause reactions.…

From the start, Price’s attitude expressed how she felt about the use of the flamingo. The title, “The Plastic Pink Flamingo,” could be taken in a couple different ways. Plastic is describing the pink flamingo, yet plastic has two meanings. It could mean plastic as in the material the flamingo is made out of, but I think Price was intending to use plastic as a play on words and have plastic mean fake or superficial. This definition would represent Price’s attitude of how she thinks America is so superficial and devalues objects, such as the flamingo.…

These characteristics of color provide protection and attraction of predators. The hue of an organism is in relation to their environment; if that were to change the species could potentially become endangered (927). In some cases the pigmentation of an animal or insect keeps an environment at ease. The color and/or smell of a creature can attract a predator. If the color of that being were subject to change, that organism could potentially over populate a given area (927).…

Climate change is forcing many animals to adapt to survive. The tawny owl in Finland is a good example. These owls come in two colors, brown or pale grey. The cold white winters have traditionally favored the grey owls, which can hide from predators by blending into a snowy color scheme. But as the winters have become more mild over the last 50 years, researchers noticed a change grey owls are slowly on the decline and the brown birds are thriving, better suited to blending into the bare brown branches of the forest. As more own owls survive, more brown genes get passed down through…
