Why Marc Is My Hero
My Hero “There are two types of people in this world. Those who say that something needs to be done, and those who say they will do something” (qtd. in “Meet Our Founder”). Marc is a hero to many because of his ability to encourage youth to cherish what is most important to them, but Marc is my hero because he has inspired many individuals, has beaten an almost indomitable drug addiction, and he has founded the nonprofit organization called Happiest Person on the Planet in 2007. Marc has inspired others by talking about hardships that people often do not want to talk about. Marc started his career as a WCW and WWE fighter, and had never treated his mother with the love she deserved. She ended up passing away suddenly while Marc was on …show more content…
In 2007 Marc founded the nonprofit organization called Happiest Person on the Planet, he has been all over the world preaching the same message to young adults about self perseverance and the importance of family. Marc is America's most popular High School presenter, presenting to over half a million students yearly (“Americas #1 School Presenter”). Marc mentions that he wants students to have hope for a brighter tomorrow, that students need to learn to say no to drugs, and alcohol, and kids who are getting bullied; have suicidal thoughts or actions can get help (“Americas #1 School Presenter”)!
Marc is my hero because he has been to his lowest point and proved no matter where you come from weather it's a drug addiction, or being suicidal you can overcome anything. “Marc, I was in your presentation today at Hagerty High School. I was sitting in the back, by myself & I was going to go home, and take my own life, then I saw your program… I thought about my mom. How much she loves me. I thought about your story, and why God still has me here. I bawled my eyes out in the bathroom, and realized I’m here for a reason. YOU made me realize that, you saved my life.. You came on the perfect day, right when i’d had enough. Thank you.” (“Meet Our Founder”). Says a student at Hagerty High School in Oviedo, FL. This student testimonial shows just how powerful and heroic Marc

While there are many heroes in the US who are recognized for something they did for themselves, there are some unspoken heroes who should be recognized for their actions for others, for example, Sheldon Smith. Sheldon was an African American child who grew up without a father figure in his life, and who, at the age of 17, was sent to jail for robbery. While this may seem bad, it was the turning point in his life. "It was horrible. It scared me straight. It woke me up and saved me. I haven't been in trouble since." He said in CNN’s article about him, Breaking the cycle of absentee fathers And with this life turning point, Sheldon started paying attention to his community. I met my mentor as I opened my front door on a brisk fall Friday night, November 11, 2011 to be exact. He stood at about 5’3,” which made me laugh a bit because I was taller and I would be calling him my mentor. The style he had was that of a preppy college student. The voice he had was so loud that it echoed throughout my house as we first chatted. Out of all the attributes that make up Francisco, the one that will forever be stuck in my brain will be that of his enormous smile. Francisco always figures out a way to keep his big bright smile on his face, despite the situation he is facing. Francisco San Miguel’s dedication and hard work are two things that have led him towards his success…

Imagine being the person who found a cure for cancer, or found a perfect alternative energy source, or even the one who made the community a better place to live. Each person has the ability to leave a lasting impression on the people around them. This is known as a legacy. The challenge for many people is determining what they want to be remembered for, if anything at all. Sometimes people may not know what they want their future to be. Some are certain that they want to help as many people as possible, and there are many ways to accomplish that. Someone can make a change in the way certain parts of society work. They can also make a difference on those who are suffering. Many people in this world are known for certain things. For example, Edgar Allan Poe is known for his poetry. A man named Jason Metiva once told me, “A hero is an ordinary person with extraordinary qualities.” It was the summer of 2011, my best friend and I were in the backseat of her mom’s Honda Ridgeline dancing to the Top 100 Country Songs of the Year. My best friend, Lauren had invited me on a day trip up to Jerome. The drive was going to be a long three or four hours, so we drove to McDonald’s for breakfast and headed North at about 6 A.M.…

Have you ever met an unjust hero? Our heroes are not selfish nor do they put themselves first. We as a society are their priority. Heroes are not cowards, they do not shy away from a challenge or someone in need. Never do the heroes push you to the sidelines. Unlike braggarts heroes are humble. “I’m not interested in the Heroes or the Villains. I’m interested in playing the people” (Anson Mount). The most crucial roles in society are played by ordinary people.…
