Why Is Writing Important
Writing is a form of communication and people write on a daily basis whether it is for something basic or more complex. We need to know how to write simple yet very important things such as our name or the date. Being a student there is not a day that goes by that I am not writing or typing my name and the date on papers or assignments. Over the past few years there has been a significant increase in the use of technology. People text message, email, and use social networking websites on a daily basis. Those are all ways to communicate with others, if people did not know how to write it would not be possible to send a text message to their friend, an email to their boss, or a status on Facebook letting all their friends in on the latest thing they are doing. These things are so important because people do them on a daily basis but yet very seldom stop to think that if it was not for writing these things would not be a popular activity of daily life. Writing plays a very important role in education. Without writing we would not have the books that we use to learn in class each day. If we did not have books to learn with it would make learning more difficult than it already is because we would have to rely on only listening to instructors lectures and taking notes rather than having the lecture, notes, and a book to go back and read to help us get a tough concept into our memory. Starting off at a young age teachers begin to assign papers, journals, poems, and other similar things for homework. This is a way for us to learn about a topic that we are writing about and also to start improving our writing skills. Students have English classes every year in school whether it is a grammar class or a composition class. Those classes help us put the writing skills that we have to use and help us build on the skills we have to make them better for our future. Writing is an important skill to have if someone wants to pursue a professional career. In order to get into most professional careers you need a college education. To get a college education you need to take classes to fulfill all of the requirements to get your diploma. Some will be English classes but even in other classes like biology or psychology you will need to use your writing skills to write lab reports or journal reviews to get a passing grade in the class. Once a degree is obtained a person may use their writing skills to write an impressive resume to assist them with getting a job that they want. Once a person is in a professional career the writing skills learned along the way help out tremendously when it comes to writing emails, or typing up a presentation to present to your co-workers. A fabulous writer is not required for every job, but in order to stand out in the professional world one must be a strong writer. In conclusion, writing is an extremely important part of life. Writing is a form of communication and necessary for daily life, it plays an important part in education, and is essential in getting and keeping a professional job. Writing is one of the most important if not the most important skills we learn growing up.
