Why Is The Ww1 So Devastating
1 The ww1 was devastating because of the twentieth-century technology they used all kind of the technology. They had powerful guns and artillery and the mobility of the roads made it stronger so they could defend themselves they even used airplanes on the battlefield. They made all kind of modern weapons but the most destructive weapon was the barbed wire it would sting the soldiers from the other army they would become tangled in the wire easy for the other soldiers to kill the soldiers from the other army. Another devastating weapon that they would use was the poison gas, the poison gas would get into their lungs to break down and choke the soldier to death. The ww1 was during for months and years the U.S not only lost human lives but money for machines and soldiers. The intensity of the battles, the destructive tactics used in the war, the use of more modern weaponry and the long time that the war was made the war so devastating. Before WWI, there was nothing compare to the machines of today. The gun that they used they had to reload it every time they had to shoot. It was hard for them but they still could kill people.
2 They used a submarine during the WWI that made the U.S her into the world war I. they were planning to make the U.S get ready to the war. They even sunk 4 more of the U.S ships and called for a declaration of war against Germany. The WWI caused more than 9 million of soldiers to die and more than 20 million to be wounded. They left death and destruction everywhere it was the worst war at that time. This war was known as the “total war”.
