I believe technology should be used in moderation for children. I don’t agree with parents just giving their phones to their children because they need them quiet, or to sit still. For children to be at home and siting with a tablet or on a computer to coming to school and doing the same is hard for a teacher. I personally don’t have “technology” in my classroom that the children have access too. But the technology is growing quicker each day, we use it literally every day of our lives, it’s inevitable. Kids are drawn to video games anyway so we might as well put something educational. We have no choice but to go along for the ride.…
Your kids are on his or her cell phone during class, and they start to fall behind only one thing to blame the cell phone. People should definitely ban cell phones in schools.…
As stated in Tinker v. Des Moines, “...[i]t could not be justified by a showing that the students’ activities would materially and substantially disrupt the work and discipline of the school”(Tinker v. Des Moines School District). This case justifies how important it is that the court repeatedly emphasizes the need to guarantee the absolute authority of the States and of the school officials, persistent with fundamental constitutional safeguards, to determine and control the conduct in the schools. Additionally, as expressed in the Bristol Student Handbook, “Access to the School District’s Technology is provided as a privilege and as an educational tool. In order to continue enjoying access to the Technology, each student must take responsibility for appropriate and lawful use of this privilege. Students are responsible for their behavior with the Technology just as they are in a classroom, school hallway or other School District property” (Upper Arlington Schools Students’ Handbook…
There has always been debates about electronics being used in school since the technology started to improve. This past years there has been many arguments or debates about rather the school should let the students use electronics during school or not not let the students be using electronics. There is plenty of point of views discussing about this topic but both sides have make good points on why or why not electronics should be used during school.Even though people say that phones should be allowed in my opinion I think that phones shouldn’t be allowed in school.…
I hope that very soon, the board has a meeting and makes the use of cell phones legal in classrooms and…
Do you think high school and middle school students should be receiving iPads instead of books? Textbooks have been played an instrumental role in society’s success, ever since school was invented we needed ways to find information and textbooks have always been there. Now with the world moving forward in terms of technology, obviously there are going to be some new inventions. However, the question is do we really need to use the inventions? Why all of a sudden are schools now having the need to replace everything that has helped millions and millions of kids with their education? Now just to be clear, I am not knocking the iPads down or anything, I think it is a very useful invention, but it is not needed…
Did you know that more than half of the world’s students are using tablet computers? To all the students out there who are not lucky enough to even use a computer (at home or at school), I am deeply sorry for you since half of the people that are at the same age as you are surrounded by information, and are improving their knowledge of the world everyday. No worries! After this speech you will have all the rights to go against who ever would not let your school have laptops/computers. "How is it possible to convince my headmaster to let us have computers in school?” A Chinese proverb once said: “Do not confine your children to your own learning, for they were born in a different time.” It clearly states how the minds of the elders and the juniors are so different since they were born in different times or even centuries. Would you rather listen to a person who has a mind to create more possibilities and not stick to the old rules or a person who sticks any same old rules that their elders once told them and rule the school? I bet you most people would choose a person who creates more possibilities than an old man who sticks to the rules and not let the school have technology. I mean, what is the point of a school, which only has books and pencils, and never interact with visual presentations; it would make the students lives in to hell! When they grow up, what job would require them to only write in books and pencils? If your child does not know anything about technology, what can they even be when they grow up? Nothing is my answer to that. You might say an architect, but sadly, they do use computers too, since after they finish the planning and design of the building, they would have to scan it on a computer and send it out to the managers. Our lives depend on technology and computers. Kids in school used to write on paper and read out of books But the fact is, more and more kids in school…
With every society there will always be crime and with more children having more and more new gadgets that are must have then the crime rate against children will go up. This can lead to children getting physically hurt and mentally hurt as well. It can also make the child want to hurt someone for the item that another child has got. You have to focus on what is an acceptable amount of tech your child takes out with them also they need to be aware…
Parents have a right to be concerned about their children on a screen more than being outside. Also they may not want to rush their child into learning at a young age, but having the child on a screen will not prohibit them from outdoor experience. Children should not be limited on screen time. A child who spends less time learning and more time outside will become a slow learner and also become unaware of a school setting. Technology will help the child prepare for their…
Technology does not only affect our health, but also other aspects of our life. As I browse the internet, I have come across this article entitled The Effects of Modern Technology on Kids by Lisa Evans. This tackles about the four negative effects of technology on kids.…
In this modern world mobile phones have a major role to play in every body’s life. Mobile phones allow people to communicate from almost any where at their leisure. Today, young, old and also school children carry mobile phones with them. Students get attracted to mobile phones because of their fascinating facilities. Since it relaxes the mind and allows communicating even through text messages, student’s find difficulty to avoid them in their busy life. Though educational institutes ban its use, students are reluctant to avoid it.…
Cell phones are used day and night, everyday and by everyone. Sure they can distract children but that doesn't mean it distracts them during class time. Children know not use their phones during class unless asked to or if an emergency occurs. Usually, parents give their children cell phones for safety reasons and explain to them not use them when it's not necessary. Teacher’s constantly tell their students not to use electronics during class, yet sometimes they asked for them to be used, so why banned them if they will be needed in the future. Cell phones are used for many reasons from having fun to be used for an emergency so what’s the hassle of having them banned.…
Should devices such as phones be allowed in school? Devices will cause distraction and make students rely even more on their devices than they already do. Devices can cause many problems for teachers and schools if used more than they should be. In order to keep schools from having even more problems with students, schools should not allow electronics.…
Technology is one of the greatest inventions of all time. Screen time is part of almost everyone's life every day. Many people believe that screen time is a big problem, yet that is not entirely true. Excessive screen time is harmful when turned into an addiction, yet a little screen time a day can be helpful. Parents believe that the best way to control screen time is to limit it at home. I believe that parents should not limit screen time at home because it can teach kids to be independent and help them to learn about the real world.…
Students should be allowed to use educational technology in schools across the nation. Such as using apps on computers or cell phones to study for upcoming test or quizzes. Students should be able to access knowledge from all over the world not just one classroom. Also there is a greater chance of the students being engaged if technology is introduced and regularly used. Technology is a thing that should be embraced in school not banished.…
