Why Is Prejudice Bad

Prejudice is an opinion that you have about someone or something that is not based on fact or actual experience. Today in 2017, there are many examples of prejudice in world, including race, gender, wealth or physical appearance. There are also many ways we can stop prejudiceness. I believe prejudism is a bad thing and no one deserves to be judged based on ideas people have without knowing the facts or having experience. Every day I see examples of prejudices. I see prejudism in school where where you are judged based on what you wear, your athletic ability and how smart or dumb you are. In school there are also different groups of people. To be popular you have to be skinny, wear cute clothes and hate school. To be a nerd you have to be super smart, read a lot, and be pretty shy. In politics there are also examples of prejudice. For example, many people believe that all muslims are terrorists because one muslim person attacked our country, when in fact there is a nine out of ten chance when there is a terrorist attack it will not be from a muslim leader. Also in our political world we believe that poor people are lazy, fat people are stupid and all minorities are a drain on society. There is even prejudism in sports. For example in school you can stand up to prejudices and make people understand that judging people by their looks, athletic ability, or intelligence is not okay. Another way to stand up to prejudism in social media by calling people out on their rude and discriminatory comments. In the real world, you can limit your prejudice comments or thoughts by thinking about the reasons for their differences. You can always educate people on prejudice behavior, by teaching about different religions and how to respect differences in people, because everyone is
