Why Is Dependability Important In The Military

Maturity, Reliability, dependability these words all have something in common. They all go into being responsible. Responsibility is earned not just given. If we just gave people who couldn't handle the problems at hand. Nothing would function smoothly. Being in the military we are given a specific job and are expected to meet the expectations of work that comes with that occupation.

To strive to get something done early every time, to never be on time or late. These are examples of what good responsibility would look like. To never go for just for the minimum to always go for above and beyond. This not only looks good on you, but your work place as well. This not only shows leadership and initiative, you portray someone who can be trusted. The ability for someone to be able to rely on you to get the assigned work to be done represents trustworthiness, which in turn will land you more responsibilities to take advantage of.

Now on the other hand there is a lack of responsibility which strongly shows immaturity and can mean your not trust worthy. Which not being able to trust the person working next to you in a high stress environment doesn't help the situation. Being non trustworthy really affects where you work and what your able to do.
