Why Is Baseball Important To Me
The day I hit the field it's like no other feeling. I take out my sunflower seeds and begin crunching. The feeling of sliding in soft dirt, the freshly cut grass and the newly raked field. Also making amazing plays in the outfield. Crowds cheering my name, making chants and cheers. When it gets down to the wire and everyone goes quiet then I get the game winning hit to seal the deal. This I believe: baseball.

I use baseball for more than just playing I use it for my entertainment. When it’s a nice summer day and I have nothing to do you can go outside with your friends and family and just have a wiffle ball/baseball game. Another way I use it for my entertainment I watch it on tv to learn from pros and to watch my favorite team compete. Another way I use my baseball for my entertainment is to join a fantasy league and play against friends with your

Having teammates changes the game, they are there for you when you aren't feeling the best and I'm there when they are down. Since me and my teammates have been playing with each other for a while got know know my teammates and build a relationship outside of baseball. Sense I have been In baseball for a while I have learn many life skills that I could of learned but baseball has teached me. It also is traveling around the country to new places and meeting people from other states and countries and becoming friends.

In baseball I learned more than just catching the ball and hitting it, players have to learn how to have athleticism. The feeling you get after sitting inside and then going to practice to stretch and play baseball is amazing. One way I use athleticism is for making diving plays in the outfield so I have to make sure I know how I can take a fast route to the ball. Another thing I learned is having to be able to stretch for plays like playing first base. Also, I have learned how I can gain arm strength for long throws from third to first or right field to

As a child, I grew up carrying a baseball glove and a pearly white baseball wherever I went, hoping for the chance of finding a partner to play catch with. The game of baseball was never just a game for me; it was a lifestyle that I had fallen in love with. With that being said, the fundamentals of baseball had no immediate effect on me as a kid. However, as I have matured along with my love for baseball, I believe that the game my life has been centered around for nearly twelve years has shaped me into the person I am today.…

I think that people love baseball more and more everyday because baseball is the best sport to watch at a venue and it’s the cheapest to go to. We also like baseball so much because of the perfect games and how excited and tense you get. Another reason everybody loves baseball is the crazy umpires and how they ring up somebody on a strike three or the crazy fans that give high fives all around and are just crazy. What about all the hard work and dedication that baseball players put in they put in work everyday even in the off-season and that’s dedication. That’s why I believe baseball is America’s…

Athletics has been an integral component of my entire life. While never being the most athletic or skilled, baseball was my passion growing up. The sport served as a garden for me to grow as a person, learn invaluable lessons, and gain friendships that will last a lifetime. After years of playing year-round, I was blessed to have the option of playing at a couple Small Division II schools or pursue a more academically rigorous degree at UVa. Ultimately, I chose the latter and it has been at the University of Virginia where CrossFit transformed from a supplementary regimen to my passion.…

“Just try it.” These were the words that my dad used to encourage me to try baseball. Before this moment, soccer was the only sport I played. Since I could remember, I have always enjoyed playing soccer; attending practices of my local recreational team . As a kid at the age of 7, I loved the rush of joining the kids from both teams to recklessly chase the same ball looking like a pack of headless chickens. I felt the parents had as much fun watching the game as the kids did playing the game. Despite my enjoyment of playing soccer, I was curious to find out if I would like any other sport.…

For me, it has to do with the excitement and appreciation of the game. Since I was big enough to hold a baseball, I have been playing the game. I appreciate it because I have played it and I have experienced the struggle between pitcher and batter. Neither one hates the other, but when the pitcher takes the mound, he or she wants to blast it past his opponent. Conversely, when batters step up, their personal goal is to put a hole through the pitcher when they send the ball blazing back. It’s this understanding of the emotions involved that makes watching the game enjoyable to…

Every single day I was outside either playing catch or working out. I remember at the time I was playing for the St Louis Sting, I continued the season to have the most innings pitched, lowest earned run average, second highest batting average, most doubles, most strike outs, and I also pitched my first no-hitter. Without having the dedication or motivation none of this could have happened. I went from playing catch once a week to everyday. I also would continue on and play baseball at Parkway South High School and lead that season in strikeouts. As I grew older I started to realize that I have the capability to play baseball for the rest of my life and that's something that is unexplainable. To be able to do something you love to do for the rest of your life is remarkable to me. I get that all because of a game.…

Life at home became very somber, as if a wave of darkness had come over my family. He loved baseball, much like me, and he liked watching me pitch. Baseball became my sanctuary, because it took me away from my worries, and also provided me with a close connection to my uncle. Every time I toe the rubber or set foot on the field, I can remember him teasing, laughing, and encouraging me with his cliché sayings and foolish remarks. Baseball also provides me with a similar connection with my father, the man who introduced me to the game and cultivated my love for the sport. My father and I have always had a special connection over baseball, but since my uncle's passing, baseball has meant so much more. I look into the stands and see the pain on my father's face as he sits, hoping the game will take him away from the loss of his brother. I pray that my left arm is strong enough to carry my father through this difficult time, just as he has carried me through difficult times. I feel an obligation to him to provide some relief for his pain, and through baseball I am able to do so. Baseball will always be much more than just a…

I believe that sports build character. They require heart, perseverance, physical and mental strength, and also trust. And if you lack any of these, practicing will develop them. You gain a special bond with your teammates, with wins and especially losses. After a loss you practice harder and concentrate more on perfecting your game. When someone plays with aggression and go all-out you look up to them. There are many situations in athletics where you have to make a quick and important decision and the consequences of that decision will affect the whole team. It is very important for teammates to trust each other. The best teams have many players working toward the same goal as one solid unit. In sports, you can be the underdog or the top dog. Either way you try to be the best you can be and beat your opponent.…
