Why Is Animal Testing Unfair
Imagine that your beloved pet or friends pet is being horribly burned and treated with much cruelty. This is a not a good picture to have in your mind, but yet it is happening around the world everyday. In fact, more than 100 million animals are killed every year around the world for animal testing. This horrific number needs to be reduced. While there are not yet any adequate replacements for animal testing, it is unreliable, unfair and expensive.

Animal testing is unreliable. For example, Dr. Richard Kluasher, the former director of the national cancer institute states that “ We have cured cancer in mice for decades and it simply didn't work in humans”. This statement shows the unreliability of animal testing. Just because it worked on a

Animal testing is a multi billion dollar industry. Spending this much money on such an unreliable thing is not a resourceful idea. It would be a much better choice to invest that money in finding other adequate ways of research. Also, because animal testing is so expensive, they could also be finding more cost efficient ways of testing instead. We should not be spending billions of dollars on such an inhumane method of research especially when the cost isn't just money but …show more content…
Animals get painfully burned, genetically manipulated and get exposed to toxic chemicals and infectious diseases everyday. They get put in horrible situations and places. These are things that are illegal to do on humans but, ok to do on animals. The number of animal deaths that result from animals testing is very high. It stands at 100 million animals a year around the world. This is absolutely devastating. It is so very sad that we kill animals for make- up! I don't have a problem against make- up , it is just so sad the number of lives lost, when once again we humans only care about ourselves.I would like to think that whenever I use a bottle of shampoo or any product at all, I can be sure that it is not tested on animals. But, this is not our worlds reality. I admit that I am guilty of not looking at labels and probably using products that have been tested on animals. So, you might think, well, she is just a hypocrite who is telling she is against something and then not caring about it herself. And it is probably reasonable to think so. But, the fact that I took that one step for the first time, of at least looking on the label, shows that I do care, and you can take that step too. You might not be able to do much to stop animal testing but, at least you are becoming aware. And, all though knowledge can hurt, it also can

The products we use everyday are a luxury that we are blessed to have and be able to use everyday. They need to find something else to test products on other than animals. Other people think that's its fine to test products on animals. People shouldn't test these products on animals. I disagree with Animal Experimentation. Millions of these animals suffer and die from this. Testing these products on animals can blind them. Testing these products on animals can affect the population of certain breeds. Why do they test products on animals? They test these products on animals so they don't have to test it on humans, but i think that it would be better if they tested it on humans who volunteered to test these products instead of some innocent animal.…

This shows that even though animals are beings like us, they still don’t have the same anatomy, which alters their test results from that of the results a human subject would receive. What is the point of testing on animals if half of the time the results given won’t even be correct for use on humans. It is just a hit or miss way of finding information for humans that may or may not react the same way as an animal subject. Some examples of modern medical mistakes taken from animal testing are: the links between cancer and smoking, the links between cholesterol and heart disease, and the links between high blood pressure to strokes (Greek 1). The use of testing on animals does not make much sense due to the fact that the results of the test may say its ok and it is not and some say the result is bad, but later we find out it was fine. Instead of taking the chance and wasting the time and money to test on animals, just make animal testing illegal and use other means of testing to discover the results of the chemical, medicine, or cosmetic being tested. Don’t make the helpless creatures suffer, let alone it be for no reason. It is completely unreasonable and…
