Why it is important for us to learn about Ancient Greece
Ancient Greece is a wonderful place. The Greeks are why we have some fascinating things today. We still have pottery, the alphabet, and myths because of the Greeks.
Pottery- The Greeks used clay to model their pots. Once the pottery had hardened, they would carve designs into the models. They would paint red and black shapes on the clay models too. The greek’s pottery came in lots of shapes and sizes.
Alphabet- The the word “alphabet” came from the first two letters of the Greek alphabet. Many of the Greek letters came from the phonetic alphabet. The first alphabet was found in the middle east. Writing was used for record keeping and business.
