When I was young, when I did not know anything, then I was just a poor child. I do not remember very well, but I wasn’t too patient and ordinary when I was young to concentrate on something. I tried to work hard anyway though. Especially studying. I was not interested in studying at elementary school. It was the most boring thing to listen to the lesson contents which one I did not know. Studying with the feelings of elementary students was not my priority. But my favorite subject score was good. I liked art and music since I was a kid. I enjoyed my grades and above all, I could study fun. Therefore, I thought how good it would be to be interested in other subjects that were stressed. It was now that I first pledged to confront English. But …show more content…

My fifth-grade teacher in my elementary school not only taught me an interest in study but also made me interested in the job of being a teacher. At elementary school, a career aptitude test is conducted once a semester. I do not have a job that I think is right for me. This time, a job called "teacher" quickly passed through my head in a car that was worried about what job to write down as a dream. So, after filling the blank, something was cheerful. I just felt like doing a great job. When I arrived home, I told my mother that she seemed to hang out with me. She praised me. So, I still dream of being a teacher as a high school student. But there is no regret. I graduated from elementary school, entered junior high school, and I met many teachers and it made my dreams harder and firmer. At first, I dreamed of becoming a teacher vaguely, but now I want to become more specific English teacher in elementary school. And later I want to be a writer who compiles a textbook. Being an English teacher is my first challenge, but later I want to achieve some additional …show more content…

My native language is Arabic and I hail from Saudi Arabia. My mother played a key role in instilling the desire to learn the English language. My first lessons begun at the tender age of 7 years, my mother used simple English words and numbers to teach me how to pronounce English words. My mother is not a proficient English speaker but the little words she knew she taught me. When I was enrolled in elementary school there were no English lessons I was deeply disappointed by this aspect. My only option was to learn the English dialect through cartoons and television programs and films. The most effective English learning tool came in form of a present from my aunt. The present was a videogame console and all games were English this exciting learning opportunity was challenged by my mother’s restrictions as she wanted me to focus more on my classwork. Since no one in my family understood the English dialect I decided to learn English through my own understanding and interpretations of the words I read or heard.…

When I was younger I loved going to school, I would get up early and eat breakfast and then pick up my friend so we could walk to the bus stop together. Then, I got to fourth grade and I could not understand fractions so I got detention for not doing my homework. I was so mad at myself but I did not ask for help because I never really spoke to my teachers, I did not want to ‘bother’ them. Then, in sixth grade I didn’t get any better. I passed math with a D and because of that I got a C+ in English where I ‘Should have been getting an A’ my grades would go from bad to good and then bad again. I would always say next year it’ll be different but it never was I would try but I would always fall behind or not complete an assignment. It was like that for a lot of highschool too, until a friend told me about IB they said it made them a better student and that it was much better than regular classes.…

Last year, I got 2 memorable accomplishments in my junior year. First of all, I achieved a good grade of English listening. It was the first time i began to study this subject, so I felt confused and worried. In other words, I could not hear completely what a speaker said and understand clearly to answer the questions. Nevertheless, relying on my endurance and patience helped me solve this problem. I spent two hours on listening exercises and listening to English songs every day. In addition, I learnt lots of vocabularies and pronunciation to absorb easily what I listened. Moreover, I tried to focus on key words and base on the spoken text to do exercises better. Day by day, I gradually improved this skill, and I could understand over 80% of chapters which I studied. In the final test, I got good grades in this subject. In addition, I had an after school job. I was a tutor to teach children who weren’t good at English. At the beginning, I felt that this job seemed quite difficult for me because I didn’t know how to explain clearly what the children didn’t understand. Thus, I tried to read several books to have many ways which could help me teach the children effectively. Through my efforts, there was happy ending because my students could improve themselves and become good students. Now, whenever I think those things which I have done, I feel very happy, and I take pride in myself.…

To tell the truth, I didn’t have any ideas about learning English at the beginning. I learned the language just because my father thought it is significant. Nevertheless, I have changed my opinion of learning English as I have learned it for many years. I find English has a fascination for me since I love the way that foreigners use their words. Though I am the native Chinese speaker, I extremely hate to write the Chinese composition. I always can hardly write the beautiful and proper sentences; accordingly, I didn’t get good grades on my Chinese composition all the time. English is different. It can be used by some brief words to express the whole sentences which…
