Why I Want To Pursue A Scholarship Essay
Throughout my life, I have always worked as hard as I possibly could in every situation. I have always tried to get good grades because I have always wanted to go to college and get a great job. Since I have three other siblings, I knew money would be tight once my older siblings went to college. I knew that I would have to maintain good grades, so that I could get scholarships to help pay for college. My brother and sister have both already been to college, so I know how hard it is to be a college student and pay for college.
I am also a big fan of sports and play in basketball, baseball, football, and golf. This makes it very difficult to get a job and start saving money for college right now. The only time I can get a job is during the summer, and I can’t work that often because of baseball. With my involvement in sports, I still make education my number one priority. I have always been proud of myself for maintaining at least a 3.9 GPA throughout high school. Even though I am very busy throughout the year, I always make sure my education comes first.

I have studied for countless tests to maintain a high GPA. I have also worked hard in the weight room to become stronger and succeed at sports. In my eyes, I have succeeded in high school. I have done great in school and outside of it. Even though my family has had to put two people through college, I still think my future is bright, and I can accomplish anything I put my mind

When I graduated high school I knew I was going to attend college. It wasn’t a question. It was instilled in me as a child that I would be the only one of my siblings to go to school. My brothers would be forced into the military. It was never a desire of mine to attend college. It was more like the expected next step. Needless to say my passion for school was null and void. I attribute my academic standing to this fact. Maybe if I'd thought about what I wanted to do with my life versus just going with what was expected I would've done a little better.…

Growing up in a family with five other kids taught me to be independent and hard-working, but I also developed matronly qualities from looking after my younger siblings when my mom wasn’t home. Throughout my high school years, my personality had led me to be the mediator when my friends argued, the advisor when they had no clue what to do, and the councilor when they had problems they couldn’t talk to anyone else about. While it never occurred to me before, I recently realized that these traits will take me far in life.…
