Why I Want To Be An Outsiders
As long as the clouds swim across the sky there will always be thoughts that float through my imagination. These thoughts cannot be spoken through any language that I am fluent in. The only way that I can remove this bundle of emotions without outside intervention is through the passing of a written thought. Although, as I travel through life my feelings will always be written on my face, fortunately for me, a mere facial expression can only give outsiders a taste of the many flavors that I am feeling at time of their glance.
The power of writing is like riding in an invisible car. When you get in it and pick up a pen you can feel the softness of the leather seats. When you turn the key to ignite the engine that initial spark of imagination

The most vivid memory I have of writing is back in the tenth grade. I had the best teacher ever in regards to writing. I used to view writing as a senseless waste of time. Writing, in my opinion, at the time was always noted to be formal and boring; however, my tenth grade English teacher, Mrs. Perez, changed my whole perception of writing and how it affects humanity. One day after class she pulled me aside and recommended a book known as, “His Dark Materials,” which is about a young girl who, with her allies, fought for the discovery of a dark substance called the “Dust.” The book single handedly altered my mental picture of writing and creativity. Writing can be about anything in the universe, and the possibilities are endless. The main point, however, which ties everything together, is imagination. One’s imagination can truly be defined as infinite to the power of infinite, because it contains numerous amounts of details and features on life and the world itself. How does this tie to writing one may ask. Well an elaborate imagination helps to create an elaborate piece of writing. In the words of Benjamin Franklin, “either write something worth reading or do something worth writing.”…

Writers block has always been an issue for not only authors but also for average Joes like me. It can be difficult to do any kind of writing when you are chained by your own mind. This is an immense issue because authors cannot develop ideas to put them into action on the page. Although there are many ways that writers do away with writers block, the best solution for is to take a pen to paper and just start letting ideas flow randomly onto the page so that your mind can break free. This solution is called free writing.…

    Outsiders In The Outsider

Today more than ever, people are grouped into social classes based on their friends. You could be considered popular, or lame. This is not just true for middle school, but also life in the 50s. The book The Outsiders focuses on two main cliques, the Greasers and the Socs. One might think that the name represents Greasers, and what they have to deal with, but the real outsiders are specific people. The outsiders are the people who dare to be different from the stereotype of their group, who believe people should be judged on who they are, not social class. Major outsiders in the book are Darry, Ponyboy, and Cherry Valance.…

After reading, “Rest in Peace, Doc,” and,” The Outsiders,” I learned that people, (especially younger adults) join gangs for a spectrum of reasons. Furthermore, some may join because they have limited life options or they may join because they want to. Whatever the reason is, no matter what, it is an illogical decision to join a gang. People in,” The Outsiders,” joined for a few different reasons. One example is,a partly main character, Steve, joined from peer-pressure. On page nine, it states that,”He was cocky, smart, and Soda’s best friend.” If Soda was in the gang before Steve was, Steve probably wanted to be like Soda and/or, Soda pressured him into becoming a Greaser. In addition, a character in,” The Outsiders,” named Two-Bit, joined for the adrenaline rush or the adventure of it. On page ten in the book, the text states,”... and he was always smarting off to the cops.” This meaning, he always liked to be on the very edge of getting in trouble with…

I love writing because you can write anything your heart desires. I love how it is a way to communicate with other people. When I was in first grade my teacher whose name has escaped my memory, taught my class how to write in cursive a year early. I loved the way the letters curved and swirled on paper. A desire to write and write anything was sparked by the fact that I thought cursive was pretty. But in first grade I was mostly writing vocab words and not essays so I had not yet discovered its power to communicate. Today, I love writing because I can share my opinion with the world. I see that writing gives me the power to make a difference and all people have to do is read…

Both Joan Didion in “on How to keep a notebook,” and Scott Silver in 8 mile create works that provide a blueprint on how writing can build one’s self. In ON how to keep a notebook, Didion explains how writing helps to organize her thought and have something to look back upon at a later time in life. In 8 mile the protagonist Rabbit, also writes to express his thoughts, allowing writing to be an escape from the stressors that constantly surround him in his daily life. In both stores, writing helps shape the characters, allowing one to get in touch with one’s self, as well as provide a sense of clarity and calm in lives, lives that at time can range anywhere from busy to unthinkably stressful.…

The imagination inside the mind finds its way outside. With nothing but a pen and paper in hand, many people have brought their own worlds to life with just one special device; their words. Words form stories that are often made into books that could last a lifetime. Writing fiction is not only a positive outlet, but it could be used to inspire others in their creative endeavors as well.…

From an early age, I have always loved to write. Writing was my passion, my niche. It was the one thing I could do and do well. I could never play sports; I hated playing piano; I struggled with math. However, when it came to English or writing, the words could not seem to come out of the end of my pen fast enough.…

Writing does not happen like it does in fiction, with inspirational background music, and a sudden appearance of a beautiful Greek muse. "Writing is easy. You only need to stare at a blank piece of paper until drops of blood form on your forehead.” (Gene Fowler). People do not sit for hours in front of a computer screen, fighting with a word-processer’s grammar, because it is fun. Writing can be either worse than the fires from Dante’s famous inferno or more lovely than true love, but, in either case, often a needed explosion of brain cells. For me, forming meaning from what started out as inscriptions on cave walls is more than creating…

I don't have much to say about writing for myself. Writing doesn't mean much to me. I am not a writer. I am an orator. However, writing does mean something to my wife. I love my wife. She loves to write. She spends hours a day writing. I watch words flow from her fingertips as she writes page after page. She doesn't let me read much of what she writes, but when she does, I can see the passion and the joy that she has for what she writes about. I wish that I could write with such a fire.…
