Why I Want To Be An IT Manager?
Ever since I was young, I loved everything in the field of technology, well I liked to play with things that are technology including my first toy with dealing with technology was the gameboy. I didn’t really think how all the technology was built, I just wanted to play all the time with friends on the consoles. Then high school began and I saw the opportunity to join the career center which had things about computers. At that time I was really into PC games and liked to be able to play a game and do work on at the same time. I joined the class knowing nothing and now I’m on the second year and know so many things. That class is the reason that I want to pursue IT management later on in life. As an IT manager, there are many different ways …show more content…
IT workers have been needed to work a lot for new small or large businesses being made. The yearly price for IT managers is really nice, starting at around $98,000 depending on the business and place you get into (Glassdoor Job Search). In IT they have different ranks too one person might work in the building and maybe another is to go out and help other people. There are a few companies around my area right now which I don’t plan on being here for the rest of my life but, it helps compare places here and farther away. This type of work has a lot of different ways to get a job from working in management of companies, government, insurance, and becoming a health care assistant. Each person can get paid a different amount to from anyone who works regular hours to someone who works after hours to get more work done. The average hours are around 30-32 hours and if you want to get compensation you will want to work for around 40-45 hours a week(U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). It is good to make sure you have extra experience and you are able to do everything efficient because that is what people look for if you want a bonus from $1000 to $20000. They don’t say that health, dental, and vision insurance is paid for completely, but it has a percentage of what will be paid, healthcare is around 88%, dental is around 77%, …show more content…
Travelling is a big key for IT managers to get from one possible site of their company to another. My uncle said that he travels a lot between Tennessee, Texas, California, and Kentucky. I have also seen that you can go to Minnesota and Wisconsin and Illinois and all kind of other places. I have always loved the thought of travelling the only thing is I don’t do it much and that’s why I might love it, I just think it might be too much stress. Travelling is also great when it comes to college because, then I’ll be away and can just travel from that college or find a job in that area. It is also nice because, my Uncle said that they will pay for the whole trip. Anywhere you go they will pay for your gas, or if they need you fast they will buy you a plane ticket and pay for the hotel. They will have you work or even travel sometimes for different companies that are having an issue and you have the experience they will make sure to send you there. I love travelling but, I don’t like the thought of having to drive so far almost every week. I have an issue of falling asleep in a vehicle because, how easy of a sleeper I am which is one thing that scares me. That is pretty much the only reason I would not wanna travel but, since it is all paid everything is worth about being able to see so many different places and see how they look. After

First of all, I’m going to explain why I’m seeking my degree In the IT field. Even though I didn’t like going to school when I was younger I’ve always had a fascination with computers and anything electronic. My first computer was the Apple II E and I got a rush being able to input lines of code and get the expected outcome. The first program I ever executed was a simple clock timer program and was immediately hooked. Shortly thereafter I joined the Navy, served for a year, was discharged and worked mainly in the construction industry and service industry. Throughout the years and especially my mid 30’s, I started to realize that I’m not getting any younger and was also experiencing excruciating back pain. At this point in time I decided to explore repairing computers on the side and discovered that I was good at servicing them and slowly but surely developed the big picture of computer repair. My first re-introduction to the computer field was with a Compaq Desktop with the Pentium 4 processor. After a short period of time with a pretty good grasp of what the hardware side of computer repair was about I began to experiment with the software side. Once again I was hooked.…

I have always been fascinated with computers going back to when I was in elementary school. I was intrigued by the capabilities of technology, and after acquiring my own desktop computer I began to explore the vast combinations and possibilities of an operating system. Since I had yet to become connected to the internet, I spent my time teaching myself what each program and setting could produce. Much of my early knowledge of computers stemmed from my curiosity, and by fourth grade I was known as the “go to technician,” helping the teachers connect their laptop to the projector or other similar tasks. When our school added a new high-tech computer lab I was ecstatic, and in this lab I learned even more, adding to my existing knowledge. My reputation at school grew, and every year increasingly more teachers called on my assistance, even following me through middle school and high school. My interest continued, and for my eighth grade career fair project I built a fully running computer from spare parts, without a metal enclosure or hard drive, using a flash drive to boot and run a Linux based operating system. As a senior I work with my school’s IT Department as a student intern: solving problems, completing research, and maintaining the functionality of our equipment. I find helping others with my skills very rewarding and this further drives…

My current endeavors in higher education are preparing me for a new chapter in my career. Since graduating with my first bachelor's degree in 2010, I have had various technical jobs. However, I do not want to continue on my current career path through retirement. I have consistently held positions in a support role, ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly and taking care of issues as they arise. Broadening my education in Information Technology (IT) will allow me to settle into a more project-based environment, where I can find creative solutions for technical problems.…

I have always had a knack for traveling. Since a young age I have found comfort in going to places I have never been. Embracing the culture and questioning why things are done a certain way and exploring the incredible world that I am surrounded by. It brings me peace just being somewhere I have never been. I think it is important to be put in situations that you might not be familiar with and learn how to adapt, how to survive on your own. It’s important to go to unfamiliar places and meet unfamiliar people.…

I have been an Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper for about 12 years and it seemed the logical choice to get my degree in Accounting or Business but it wasn’t of very much interest to me. I began talking to people who really enjoyed their jobs how they knew what it was they wanted to do in their chosen career. “Do what makes you happy.” Was the first thing my mother told me and my dad said, “If you have a job you enjoy, you will never have to work a day in your life.” I have always enjoyed working on computers, trying to figure out how to do different things. When my computer would act up, I would try to fix it myself before I would have someone else try to fix it. It interested me and so I began looking at different degrees available in the computer or IT field. I decided that this is where I want to pursue my…

One of the main purposes of travel is to gain experiences that allow us to grow and develop as individuals and it is important that people travel the way that bests suits them at a particular time. For example, I like to go on adventure holidays and this invariably includes a small group and expert guide, and I frequently participate in writing retreats around the world with like-minded people. However for me, the real joy of travelling has always been to take off on my own and just 'see' what comes along the way. Of course this can sometimes be fraught with frustrations, difficulties and even dangers.…

To work in this field common degrees include BA of Computer Science or BA of Computer Information Systems. Although these are preferred you can still work in IT with a degree in another area. Many companies will want you to have certain certifications like C++, Cisco Systems, and Check Point Software. Technology is constantly updating so you have to stay literate. Information and support services holds more employees than any other IT pathway. My choice as a Computer System Support Specialist would fall specifically under this pathway.…

What you knew to be correct today is only relatively related the next. Okay, so technology doesn’t evolve that quickly, but in the short span of a decade leaps and bounds have been made in technology and IT services. I remember when I was still in High School and my desktop seemed to a fairly powerful machine for the time. But little did I know then it would be practically obsolete in as little as three to four years. Back then 256kb of RAM was all I had, and it worked fantastically. Now days anything under 8Gb of RAM is considered too little. Processors have also grown immensely, from single core to quad cores, some even running technology to create four more logical cores, giving you the illusion of eight cores. That is just the hardware side, software has also evolve that it is pivotal the operation of a company, or even a home use computer. It is because this field is constantly looking for the next best thing, people in the service field really never quick learning. For me, that is the draw to this career field. Not to say I am over thrilled to spend several hours a couple days a week sitting in a class room getting a lecture. But it is what makes it interesting. If I knew everything about a computer and every software, this job would get old quick. That also goes for any career, I do not want to be repeating myself day in and day…

One thing is for certain, we only serve to gain from our travels. Two paths await you when you travel. You can leave behind all the comforts of home and set off for a sheltered location that provides all the same comforts available to you at home. Or you can take the second route. Shed your lifestyle, customs, and certainties and escape into a new world that you can fully embrace. Trust me, the second path is always more fulfilling, plus the stories you come home with will be even better than any spa retreat could ever serve up. Travel should be something you learn from as much as to enjoy. Anyone can travel, but smart travelers will approach everything with an open mind and heart that allows them to see the real beauty in the places they set out to explore. Here are some of my favorite travel quotes to get you thinking differently about the way you travel. On Why You Should Travel Experience travel, these are as education in themselves. Euripides He who does not travel does not know the value of men. Moorish Proverb Wandering re-establishes the original harmony which once existed between man and the universe. Anatole France The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page. St. Augustine Motivation To Go Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds. Explore. Dream. Discover. Mark Twain Adventure is worthwhile in itself. Amelia Earhart Only those who will…

My dream of my life ten years from now has changed many times over these past few weeks. This class has shown me new opportunities and broadened my horizon. Throughout grade and middle school, I pictured myself joining the United States Marin Corp. out of high school and being a hero. As I matured, I looked at my god given talents and decided to go a different way with my life. Then I determined I wanted to go into the field of computers; still not sure, whether to work with software or hardware I stuck with this idea and plan until just recently. The guest speaker for UTI, Universal Technical Institute, sparked my interest in a passion that has been dwelling in me ever since I could remember. I always been interested in automobile mechanics…
