I would also like to be more independent. My career I’m still unsure of what I want to do because I’m interested in more than one career and I can’t decide which one fits best for me. My family mainly influenced my preparation and motivation towards college and having a better future, my parents never went to college and they both have their high school diploma. In the soon future I never want to have an experience of almost being homeless, asking for money, or having to get food stamps or be be associated with section 8.
My four years of high school wasn’t as great as I hoped it would be but, overall it could have been much more worse. My grades don’t reflect the type of person I am myself, my grades don’t define me at all and I should be viewed for my personality and how I present myself to the world. I didn’t utilize additional support as much as I should have as well my math grades reflect it for the most part.

You should consider me to your admission program because I’m not just another student looking for a college or a place to fit in. I’m so much more than that, I should be judged and seen as a type of person i present myself I have a lot of potential, being African American makes it harder for me to go for what I want because of how society sees me through their own eyes instead of how I see myself. Going to college will help me figure out my strengths, weaknesses, unknown skills, my interests and mainly help me understand

Since my dad has lived in the USA since long before I arrived, I was able to go to private school in Ethiopia and get a good education. I came to the USA when I was fourteen years old. It was not easy for me to make new friends, to get used to the new school, and, most importantly, to develop my English. However, those obstacles didn’t stop me from getting outstanding grades in my classes, even the ones that seemed like they might be beyond my level.…
