Why I Accept Me Analysis
So far as being a freshman at RVEC I have learned a lot. In freshman seminar my teacher Ms.Ramsey has taught me a lot of life lessons such as sometimes you have to get things done on your own but also in the work force you are going to work with pr for people you don't like and in order to get paid you have to do it because that's life. I understand that now because I have worked with a lot of students at RVEC and previous schools who either didn't do their work or I had argued with about certain subjects but all what matters is you get the work done and complete. I also learned that if you let your efforts rise above your excuses you can and will go extremely far in life.

Being a freshman at RVEC so far has been a challenge and stressful but I know that I am capable and obviously I have adults in school, previous teachers, and my family who knows I can accomplish all or any types of work so if I work hard and believe I can do it then I will get that associates degree and maybe a certificate in business. I want to let my family, community, the whole world know my name when I have accomplished all my goals and achieved all my achievements in life and maybe have my own family to share

My expectations are very high and if I don't accomplish those achievements then I will try my absolute best to get there. This community is very small and narrow but once I finish high school I'm going to try my very best to go to a college that is rated high for students who have the best grades and does very good on their tests and work. I want to become higher than high but if I get the mindset that I can't do it or its to late now I won't get no where. So now my mindset is to try it again or do what's best for your future and what is going to affect my

The value I place on being successful in college is 9. My expectation of being a success in college is probably a 7 right now. Multiplied together, this gives me an achievement motivation score of 63. I want to be successful because I feel college is really the only significant next step towards bringing me to where I want to be. Unfortunately I rated my expectation of success so low because I lack the self-confidence to feel like I will be able to make it happen. I’ve failed so many times in the past and I fear that I…

I always strived to do the best that I can, in everything that I do, and this especially applies to academics. In 6th grade, I joined the honors program at my middle school; from then on forward, I made sure than my work was of high enough quality so that the following year I would be placed in honors courses. These courses are what I believe prepared me for my success in high school. I got a taste of what it was like to be in an environment where every pupil was hungry for an education and for knowledge, and I grew to want to learn as much as my classmates. I entered high school with courses that upperclassmen had that challenged me more than anything else had before. It was during my freshman year of high school that I realized that I couldn’t…

Having grown up in a single parent home with two sisters who did not complete high school, made the pressure for me to succeed unimaginable. The constant reminder of achieving greatness has stuck with me since I was eight years old. Throughout middle school I was top of my class, in high school I graduated cum laude with a 4.4 GPA and currently in my 1st year of college I am top of my intermediate/college algebra class, I scored the highest grade out of all 5 of my psychology teachers classes, and I have an A in my Philosophy class. My educational goals consist of gaining knowledge throughout my entire life, achieving higher than my goals, being as involved as I can possibly be with my college/ community, and continuing to prosper. Ever since…

The school that I come from, Campolindo High School, is one of the best high schools in the state. We were often told to not be worried about getting what we believe to be bad grades in the harder classes that we take because getting a B or sometimes even a C is equivalent to get an A in most other high schools. We have been told throughout high school that a high standard is expected of us, like receiving high scores on standardized tests like the SAT, ACT, AP exams, the CAHSEE, and the Star tests. We are also expected to behave a certain way outside of school because it has a reputation to uphold and all of us are linked to that reputation. I think that high standard from Campolindo has transferred and been engrained in life outside of school. From this point on in my life, I will expect only the best of myself because anything less than that isn’t worth the time or the effort and it just looks bad to other people as well. I don’t have to succeed all the time in everything that I do, but I must always learn from what I fail at so the next time I attempt it, I will succeed. Campolindo High School has opened up endless possibilities for my future and I am very excited to experience them.…

I was always the type of person who knew exactly what I wanted to do with my life thanks to my parents’ support and LEAP. I’ve always had lofty, perhaps unrealistic. In middle school, I naively assumed that I would be in top 12% of my class, by simply making A’s. I tried my hardest in every classes, but still wasn’t enough. I never reached my goal of being in top 12%, as a result my self-esteem plummeted. I started high school with high hopes once again. Perhaps even more naively, I pursued the goal of being ranked number one. I was too young to realize the concept of “realistic” goals. My biggest obstacle was my state of mind. I brought my self-down. I told myself the only way to be the best is to be better than everyone else. Setting such a high goal did help me in the end. After the second semester of freshman year, I received my rank. I was ranked number 10;…

In the Glen Campbell documentary “I’ll Be Me”, we see country musician Glen Campbell through a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease, and his final album and tour. We learn about his life and how he has always been into music and has been on the road most of his adult life performing his music. There is a scene where a doctor performs a memory test while his wife is there with him. The doctor asks him to remember a few words and then asks him to repeat them. Campbell says he cannot recall them because he no longer has a use for them. I think was a sign as there were several times that he said that he no longer had a use for something and that is why he could not recall it- he was trying to play it off like he no longer needed the information but…
