Why Everyone Should Attend College
College may not be for everyone; not everyone likes school. Many people think it is necessary for everyone to go to college, but not all high school graduates should have to attend college to be successful. There are many other options.
Not everyone can afford to go to college it is very expensive. It sometimes is very difficult for someone to go to college right after high school because of the cost. According to research, the average cost for a public college is about $33,480. Even the average cost of a two year college is costly. On average, two year colleges cost anywhere from around $3000-$10,000. For lower income families, putting their children through college might prove difficult due to the cost. Even if a student puts themselves through college, they will come out with massive student loans. These student loans can put them in debt and can take years to pay off.
There are well paying jobs out there that do not require a further education. There are many jobs out there such as welding, electrical work, and construction work, that do not require a college degree and pay well. For example, local jobs such as Boss and Systems do not require a college education. If people want to do hands-on jobs, they may not need college education. I have family who have chosen that path and not only love their job, but make good money doing it. They also never had to go college to work.
Many people do not like school. The option of college may not interest them at all. If individuals had trouble getting through high school, they may not have the ability to go to college. About twenty percent of teens do not graduate high school. That twenty percent will most likely not attend college, for obvious reasons.
The cost of college can be quite costly. Not every career requires a higher education. Some people do not like school so going to college might be a struggle for them. Do you think students should have to go to college?
