Why Do We Need To Know Hip Hop Culture
In order to know hiphop dance we need to know the hip hop culture. Hiphop dance originated form the Hiphop culture in the 1970s. The word Hip Hop tells a lot about the culture. Hip means "present" and Hop means "action". The two words summaries the meaning of the whole culture. The culture is about feeling the present and expressing the feeling in action. The Culture consist of four elements: Graffiti (art), MCs (rappers), Disc Jockeys (music), and Dance (B-boys and B-girls) (1). Together it has brought alive the unique culture. The dance itself came as part of enjoyment when there were nothing exciting happening in New York at this time. Now days, the root values of hiphop culture has faded away talking about drugs, sex, and girls. Clearly
