Why Do We Need Animal Testing?
Since the dawn (used a more powerful word for emphasis) of time, humans have used animals for food, clothing, and other necessary purposes. As time moves on, and technology advances, humans begin to rely on medicine for their health. And still to today, we use animals for our needs. Animals have supplied us with the technology and advances in the medical field. Without them, we would have never been able to perfect the polio vaccine. They are a vital part of our survival. Animal testing strengthens our community and saves us from possible casualties. There are many reasons to keep up this practice of animal testing. It has been happening for years, so why stop now? The most prominent case of success within animal testing is in the 1988-2012 …show more content…
Animal testing often involves force feeding, restraints, and other such necessary tools to keep the experiments controlled. To add to the fact, the majority of animals are put to sleep after their trial is done. Many tests will need the test subject to be deprived of sleep, food, and water in order to see clear results. In spite of this madness, there are also laws in place to ensure that the animals are being in as safe of an environment as they can be. However, not all laws are just. The laws in place are not as strict as one would believe due to the fact that scientists would need the test subjects in certain conditions in order to complete the test properly. Though animal testing may not be the best option, evidence shows that it is our only option for properly working medication. As we strive for our place in this world, humanity starts to notice patterns, algorithms, and repetition. Sometimes these patterns are the only thing to show us the right way to success. From the past to the present, the statistics all come out the same. We have used animals for the longest time for our survival. It all comes down to the same subject, still. It is our only opportunity to perfect our society, our lives, and our

Animal testing is rarely successful since animals have different physiologies than humans. There has been many studies that have shown inaccuracy and unsuccess in animal testing. Studies show, “90 percent of medications approved for human use after animal testing later proved ineffective or harmful to humans in clinical trials” (Stop Animal Testing) and also, “Animal-tested drugs have killed, disabled or harmed millions of people and lead to costly delays as well” (Stop Animal Testing). It is evident that animal testing lacks accuracy and has dangerous consequences, therefore it should no longer be…

Animal testing has always been a dispute between people; some people think it’s morally wrong and some people think it helps with medical and scientific breakthroughs. Drugs that people use or cosmetics that are used could have been tested through animals before being stocked on shelves. About 800 animals are tested on before a drug is passed to clinical trials (“Is animal”). Many animals get tested on, but many like mice, rabbits, hamsters, monkeys, dogs, cats, pigs, and some other animals get tested on. Animals can be used to find new advances in medical treatment and check safety for products, but these animals that get tested on can go through pain and death. Animal testing is wrong and should be stopped because…

Researchers need to test medicine using advanced technology not on animals. All researchers around the world need to find a safer more accurate way to test medication. If researchers keep using animals, their results will always be different for humans and they will never find a solution that will help people with their health. There are ways to test medication that are safer, faster, and cheaper than animal testing. If researchers use the technology animal testing will be eliminated from…

Others might say that animal testing is good because we can find cures for some of the terrible diseases that live here. It is more true that only 2% of the cures actually works. Also, that 2% has a chance to hurt people also. But it is true that some of the cures such as, lung cancer, birth defects, and spinal cord injuries. But if you are going to do animal testing and let it continue you should use more common animals such as rats, mice, and maybe ducks but not monkeys and other more endangered…

In Human Society International it states that 9/10 candidate medicines that appear safe and effective in animal studies fail when given to humans. This shows that every 10 experiments done on animals only 1 will work. This also shows that animals are being killed even if the experiment doesn’t work. In the UK an estimated 70,000 people are killed or severely disabled every year by unexpected reactions to drugs. All these drugs have passed animal tests (Human Society International). This shows that animal testing isn’t reliable if the medicines that are approved are killing people who are taking them. This is important because if the medicines are killing people that have been tested on animals, their should be a new way to make sure they’re safe. This shows that animal testing is useless and there should be another way to make sure drugs are safe before giving them to…

Scientists have been using animals to conduct experiments and tests since ancient times. Over the years, the practice of using animals has been under fire by animal protection and animal activist groups. Using animals for drug testing has become an important part of scientific experiments but it has also led to the deaths of millions of animals. When animal testing goes wrong, it can harm the users whom it is supposedly benefiting. The use of animal testing should be abandoned because it does not predict accurate results in human beings, it kills animals, and there are alternate testing methods that exist which do not involve the use of animals.…

Medicine is a necessity for human life in the current generation with all the current and new diseases being found today. ”Animal testing was required for me to receive the antibiotics, anti-inflammatory steroids, and bronchodilators needed for me to recover from my long bout of pneumonia this year.” (Pharmboy) Although Alex Pharmboy stated that animal testing gave him the medicine to battle pneumonia we still need to develop newer and more effective drugs at all times. For that to happen though we need the exploration and invention of new medicines. Scientists would need test subjects to do this in which they would most likely would be animals. I think this is a good thing because we need to know the side effects of the drug before it gets into human testing which could be fatal if not tested in the earlier stages.…

Apart from that, animal testing also has poor results in both drug testing experiment or medical research. This is because the anatomic, metabolic and cellular differences of animal and human are very much different from each other which makes them as poor test subject for human beings. Consequently, these absurd experimentation are unable to generate and predict accurate result that may occur in human beings. For instance, cancer has an abysmal record of failures where both humans and animals react differently when tested with carcinogens (Greek, 2007). Besides, potential cures and medicine could also be ignored due to the sole dependency on animal testing. It could deceive scientist to overlook the benefits of some medicine. Aspirin for…
