Throughout time, society has viewed evil crimes differently, weather it being based on how violent the act was or the reason the act was committed. In the tragedy of Macbeth, Lady Macbeth was willing to do anything in her power to become royalty. Lady Macbeth says “Come, you spirits that tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here…” (Act1, Scene 5), she was willing to give up her feminine nature in order to convince her husband, Macbeth, to commit a murder. Lady Macbeth never really committed a harsh evil act, besides lying and committing treason. In the beginning of the play, Lady Macbeth had a firm stand on what she was doing. On the other hand, Macbeth’s character was unsure of what he was doing was right.
