Why Do Maclay Schools Should Wear Uniforms Be Free
Maclay school should stay uniform free for many reasons. These reasons are: it would limit our freedom of expression, it is a well known fact that students oppose uniforms, and it may make the transition from child to adult harder if your clothes are already chosen for you everyday until you graduate. These are the reasons why school uniforms are a bad idea.

Uniforms are a bad idea because they limit our freedom of expression. Currently, the school has a dress code that says "no big logos or words on shirts or shorts," small logos, including those on soccer jerseys, are permitted. If the school replaces that with uniforms, we will have even less control. Uniforms might give the school a little bit more control over small fights about what is on shirts, but we have not had any fights about what's on shirts in my history at Maclay school. If Maclay adds school uniforms to the dress code every student on campus will look the

Just think, when you become an adult and you think for yourself and you are out on your own, you are going to want to know how to choose your own clothes. It would affect our high schoolers even more so than our middle schoolers, because they are the closest to going to college and eventually beginning their careers. This is my third and final reason for why Maclay School should not add uniforms to the dress code.

In closure, Maclay School should not add uniforms to the middle and high school dress code because it limits our freedom of expression, student oppose uniforms and it might make the transition from childhood to adulthood harder. These reasons are easily seen and backed up by science, thus proving that uniforms should not be added to the Maclay middle and high school dress

One of the reasons that school uniforms should not be allowed in schools because they are not cost effective. One reason why they are not cost effective is because some families cannot afford multiple uniforms, plus the clothes that students wear outside of school (Pakhare 1). Unlike the students who can afford three, four, or five uniforms, the poorer students’ one uniform will look worn out and used by mid-semester compared to everyone else (Stainburn 1). It will be easier to pick out the kids who cannot afford much. The social boundaries that uniforms were trying to get rid of will still occur with or without them (Cruz 47). The second reason behind why school…

Many people say that different types of clothing feel comfortable to different people. Some children are more comfortable in a specific material or style of clothing. Uniforms reduce ones ability to choose clothing that fits individual comfort needs. Experts believe that children need to feel comfortable in order to maximize learning, and that uniforms can therefore prevent academic success. Another problem would be if the school was required to wear ties. Wearing a tie would put an enormous damper on childrens ability to pay attention. Most students would spend a majority of their time situating and loosening their tie to the desired fitting. The sad part is that by the time it feels comfortable it is against the dress code and they find themselves in trouble.…

When was the last time you saw a child in their school uniform? Probably quite recently. But have you ever thought how these children feel ? their entire school is wearing the same thing they are wearing? These children wear the same thing every single day they go to school. The only time they get to wear their own style of clothes is on the weekend. Making children wear the same thing everyday, thinking it's a good idea that helps them in school, probably only makes them hate school more. There are many reasons why school uniforms are a bad idea and should not be enforced on children. To start with, to buy them costs a lot of money. Secondly, school uniforms stop the child’s individuality from being expressed, keeping the entire school as…

Throughout the years, there has been much debate with schools across the country on whether or not students should be allowed to wear uniforms. Through past experience with this argument, it’s safe to say that wearing a uniform is not a bad thing at all. Why? For one, uniforms stop other students from being judged on how they look, two, they save families money and students will not pressure their parents into buying clothes some families can’t afford, and lastly uniforms increase safety and security. So I do strongly agree that students should be able to wear uniforms.…

Another reason that we should not have uniforms is natural disasters. How would a parent identify their child? Most parents know what their children wear to school for the day, and it is a very easy way to pick out your child. Or another is what if a student with superiority attacked a younger age student how would they be able to describe their attacker or pick them out of a group if they all look the same. “School is a place where the next actors, writers, artists, politicians, inventors, designers and musicians are trained. School uniforms send a clear early-life message to students that comfort is important and creativity is not, that authority is allowed to abuse its power and constrain our constitutional right of free speech and expression. Students learn from uniforms that their individuality, political opinions and religious rights are unimportant, as is their education; students are regularly suspended for non compliance to the uniform code even if their school work is excellent. If uniform-requiring…

Uniforms would be great in any school. Uniforms have been around in America since the late 1800's. They must be a good thing if they are still here today. Nearly 30% of the whole country requires uniforms! Schools have been showing wonderful reports on how uniforms are doing. Students feel as if they have a responsibility to uphold with uniforms. Knowing that their classmate are going to look like them is a good thing. Yes, they cant "express" themselves in the way they want but that is worth loosing to decrease the bullying problem in schools. From the California study you can see that uniforms are making a huge impact on schools and the behavior. Uniforms also help the administrators enforce a code of dress. As the first amendment says, everyone has the right to express themselves freely which you cannot do if you are forced to wear a school uniform. (procon.org) Clothing choices are a crucial part of self expression and taking the choice away from someone can result in stifling students creativity. Overall, when kids do not have the choice on what to wear they are unable to express their individuality. Another reason school uniforms should not be required is that they do not have any positive effect on attendance, academics, preparedness, or exam results.…

"Just slapping clothes on kids won't improve a school, but uniforms accompanied by other reforms can make a difference. Uniforms send a message and remind students that they are in school. One element of the message is that when you are going to school, that is your place of work. That is the place where you are working at getting smart." ~Joe Palumbo. Uniforms cause children to be more civilized and mature in what they are doing. It could lead the kids to a greater future and teach them to be more proper. It is a great idea for schools to implement a policy on school uniforms because it provides more focus to learning, reduces peer pressure, and increases school pride.…

I have three or more points on why I am for school uniforms and why others are against uniforms. When students wear school uniforms, it shows what school they belong. For instance, if there were no uniform policy, anyone could walk into the school building fitting into the crowd with everyone else and the employees of the school would not know who belongs and who doesn’t belong. There could be a stranger waiting in the boys or girls bathroom waiting to harm one of the students. If the schools go with the uniform policy, this will help stop this action from occurring. If…
