Batman Begins

Have you ever experienced something that has changed you completely and you have no clue why? You're just sitting there wondering how your mind works and how this could have had such a crazy effect on you. My insane experience and favorite movie was Batman Begins in IMAX. To begin, I have always wondered why and how batman does what he does; fight crime, hang out in the bat cave, and most of all why he is batman. Bruce Wayne got the name Batman from how he lost what was dearest to him, his parents. As a little boy Bruce fell into a well on the Wayne estate property. There he interrupted a cave of bats that scared him pale in the face and delivered nightmares to him for years. Bruce's childhood sweetheart and friend had one saying that she would keep drilling into his head when he returned to Gotham. Bruce was a completely different person when he had returned and would keep hearing the saying "It is not who you are that defines you as a person but what you do." Those few words made me sit back and think about myself and what I was doing with my life. At this time in my life I need to see this movie because it needed to open me up to the reality of how I was acting and who I was hurting, my parents. My family is great and consists of wonderful people that carry our last name well but what I was doing with my life ultimately defines who I am. Hurting a lot of people at this time, the movie led to me experiencing my first epiphany that night and life hasn't been the same

I chose this book because Batman is my favorite character and I think that the graphic novels along with books paint a broader picture of the character. Batman is after all, the world’s “best detective” in the DC Comics world. The story starts in the cave with Bruce Wayne’s grandfather teaching his son Thomas Wayne to be a man by shooting the creatures of the night “bats” with a gun (Hickman, 2012, pp. 1-5). The story is definitely for avid fans of Batman, but can be enjoyed by newcomers. Bruce Patrick Wayne, Alfred Pennyworth and Detective James Gordon are players in a story that unravels a dark hidden secret of the Wayne…
