Why Attend A Service Academy

Since the time I was very young, I wanted to serve my country. I always enjoyed helping out those around me, and though my time that has morphed into the idea of doing so through military service.
The idea of joining the academy came from my desire to lead. I would always the be first to volunteer myself, or if I saw someone in need I would be right by their side and do all I could to help them succeed be it through encouraging them, explaining an idea to them, or by acting as an anchor in a difficult time. This desire began to be applied to a broader scale as I got older, and my desire to attend a Service Academy stems from said desire.
