Why Are Stone Calendars Important?
Introduction: I’m going to be talking about why Stone Columns, Road and Calendars are very important to the world now and back then. Also the positive and negative affects they have one the world/people.
Stone Columns
Till this day we still have stone columns, Ionic columns, Doric columns, and Corinthian. You can tell the difference between them all because Ionic columns have scrolls, Doric columns are on top, and Corinthian have carved stone leaves. We still have and use these different types of columns till this day even in Washington D.C. Examples of these different types of columns are the Lincoln memorial, the Jefferson memorial and the supreme courts. Calendars can be used in many different way like to remember appointments, bills and payments that you have to pay, and could be used to book things like making a reservation to a nice restaurant. This calendar was developed by Pope Gregory during the middle Ages. The Gregorian calendar has affect people’s lives in a
positive way because it help people to keep up with important thing that they have to do or have planned. The calendar is used all around the world for keeping track of time. Facts about the Gregorian calendar is that before this calendar was even made people rely on the Julian calendar. Before the calendar was made the New Year used to start on March, 25th. Another fact is that the Gregorian calendar is not the only calendar used around that world. Many years ago people back then calculated a month by the length of time it takes the moon to orbit the earth and began a new phase. Some people in Britain did not agree with having the calendars, so riots started to break out. In my opinion I think that calendars have affect our lives in a positive way because calendars can help people to stay on top of things, prepare for important meetings or interviews that you have and to work towards a goal.
