The Okapi are endangered
The Okapi is known to be hunted for their hide and meat, big predators like Jaguars and leopards also kill the Okapi for food. The Okapi’s hide is worth up $1800, that's why poachers hunt them. They are losing their habitat to the decrease of forests, They have been a protected animal since 1933. Since 2005, their population has decreased by 50%.
