Who Was Chris Searching For Happiness In Into The Wild
Who was Chris ? What kind of person was he ? Some say he was foolish others say he was intelligent. Some say that Chris was a man full of hate others say he was full of love. What was Chris searching for? Perhaps it was Happiness others say it was an escape from society. If you read the book Into the Wild by John Krakuer it is clear that Chris is the mix of the both Worlds. In the book of Into the Wild by John Krakuer , it is clear that Chris was searching for an escape from society so that he can discover Happiness.. For Instance on page 183 Chris highlights a book from Tolstoy that quotes” I have found what is needed for happiness. A quiet secluded life in the country. “ This quote shows that we can infer that Chris was looking to move away from society in order for his search of happiness. In doing so he did. Chris was able to experience this through his journey to Alaska by meeting new people. It is clear that Chris Mccandles was searching for happiness in his journey of into the wild. In the book of Into the wild it is clear that Chris was an intelligent man. For example in the book it quotes “Chris graduated from Emory College”. This sentence proves that Chris was able to graduate in one of the most prestigious schools in America. In fact Emory college is one of the top 20 colleges in America according to Forbes Magazine. The second reason why the book proves that Chris was an intelligent individual is because in the book it quotes “ He seemed extremely intelligent. “page 51. This quote shows that other people throughout the book can see that Chris was an intelligent individual such as Westerberg. Another quote that shows that Chris was intelligent is that his sister states “Chris easily got A’s in school” chapter 10.
