Who Uses The Scientific Method
Internet Activity #2
Scientific Method What is the scientific method? Who uses the scientific method and why are we interested in using the scientific method? First off the scientific method is a procedure consisting of systematic observation, measurement, experiment, formulation, testing, and modification of a hypothesis. Everyone from scientist, mathematicians and even you can use the scientific method. We are interested in using the scientific method because we can solve problems or answer scientific questions. The first step in the scientific method is making an observation. Most observations are inspired by what we see in the natural world, so we ask questions. For an example; many are interested in space because there is so much to
This is an educated guess about what will happen or how things will work. One thing you want to remember is to state your hypothesis in a way that you can easily measure, and help you answer your original question. I like to cook so I would make a hypothesis about whether or not an ingredient would enhance the flavor of my food or not.
The fourth step in the scientific method is to test the experiment. This will determine whether your hypothesis is supported or not. You want to conduct a fair test by making sure that you only change one factor at a time while keeping the other conditions the same. Another reminder is to repeat the experiments several times to make sure that the first results weren’t just an accident. Now when I cook food, and the ingredient makes the food taste horrible, I don’t mess around. I try something else right away, because experimenting with food can become expensive. The next step is to analyze your data and draw a conclusion. Here you will collect your results of the experiment and analyze them to see if they support your hypothesis or not. Most people will find that their hypothesis was not supported and construct a new hypothesis based on what they already learned. Even if your hypothesis was supported, many will test it again to make sure it wasn’t a

The first step in the scientific method is asking a question. Questions are developed through worldviews. There are four components of a worldview that can form questions. The first component is cosmology; the explanation of the world is a worldview that is focused on where a person came from. The teleology explanation of the world is a worldview that is focused on purpose and meaning. The epistemology explanation of the world is a worldview that is focused on knowledge and truth. The last component is axiology, which says the explanation of the world is focused on morality and values.…

Scientists use the scientific method primarily to gain knowledge about the nature of reality. Due to the means of the scientific method, the structure of the atom and the composition of the stars, the mechanisms for growth, the cause of disease and cures or infection, and also the blueprint for life have all been discovered. The scientific method has many great functions that all evolve from the inquiry of a problem (steps: Observe, Create Hypotheses, Deduce specific things that may also be true, Test the hypothesis), leading to a hypothesis that is then broken down to help distinguish relevant information from irrelevant information within the scientific problem.…

There are two different ways to use the scientific method. The five step method involves observing/research, hypothesis, prediction, experiment, and conclusion (Understanding and Using the Scientific Method, 2011). The seven step method involves observation, question, research, guess, experiment, analyze data, and conclusion (Trefil & Hazen, 2010). Whether using the five step method or the seven step method you will always derive at a solution. With both methods you make an observation as to something not being right. Then ask specific questions in order to provide a direct focus to the problem. The next step involves research to find an answer to your questions. Research can often lead to other questions for the problem. Once all the questions have been researched and answered you will perform experiments and analyze the data you have collected and formulate a hypothesis. The hypothesis is a statement regarding the cause and effect of the problem. After all tests have been completed and a solution is found you then write out the conclusion or final hypothesis (Understanding and Using the Scientific Method, 2011).…

The first step in the scientific method is to observe. When you are observing you are discovering what is going on around you. The second step in the scientific method is question. To question one must make an attempt to explain the observation that was made. The next step in the scientific method is making a hypothesis. A hypothesis is made to predict a solution and an outcome. The fourth step in the scientific method is making a prediction. When making a prediction you are indicating the outcome. Next is the conclusion. The conclusion details the findings of the testing. This then leads to the final step which is the results. The results are whether your findings based on the hypothesis…

Scientists gets answers to their original questions through scientific method. Through observation, scientists are able to frame the ways that they want to use in their research. In the hypothesis, the answer that they have in their mind is contained. After that they have predictions which happens to be their specific belief of the scientific suggestion. By experimenting they are able to invent ways to answer their questions, though the conclusion is the final findings of the…
