Who Is to Blame for Romeo and Juliets Death?

Core 18 – Writing Essay “who’s to blame”

The deaths of Romeo and Juliet are mainly to be blamed on Tybalt, the parents and Romeo and Juliet. This is because Tybalt, fought with Mercutio, which made Romeo step in, kill him and then get banished from Verona. The parent’s, had an ongoing feud which made it very difficult for Romeo and Juliet to be together, which made the little scenario happen the night they died. As for Romeo and Juliet, well they were just children madly in love, and they did many silly things to be in love which led to them dying.

The deaths of Romeo and Juliet are tragic in that they could have been prevented if not for their own foolish actions. First of all, Romeo and Juliet put themselves in many dangerous situations, and they also lied to everyone they knew and loved. They secretly got married without either of their parents blessing which put Romeo in a bad position as he could have gotten in a lot of trouble off Capulet. The death of Tybalt that Romeo blames on fortune is a direct result of his own movement and clearly chose his course of action “fire-eyed fury be my conduct now”. Can we blame Romeo and Juliet for their own deaths or were they simply victims?

Secondly, I also believe the nurse is a big part in their deaths. She is mainly on Juliet’s side, as she is supporting her all through the story. Even though she is worried about Juliet’s Decision on Romeo and she tells her “he is a Montague and the son of your great enemy”, she helped her to see Romeo and helped with all of the wedding plans and details. She helped Juliet See Romeo on their wedding night, but when she found out that he killed Tybalt, her mood changed. She told Juliet not to worry about Romeo as he is a murderer and banished she will never See him again. “It is as if he is dead to thee”. The Nurse could be blamed because when she withdraws her help she motivates Juliet to action and she seeks help elsewhere.

Finally you must find Tybalt guilty because he

I believe the blame for Romeo and Juliet’s death belongs to both, those who supported them as well as those that did not. Blame lie especially with Lord Capulet, Friar Lawrence, and the Nurse. Juliet’s father played an important role in the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. As the father of Juliet, Capulet is meant to protect his daughter Juliet. Instead, he disregards Juliet feelings puts her down. Lord Capulet acted harsh when Juliet expressed her opinion over Paris. Both of Juliet’s parents deserted her in a challenging situation. Friar Lawrence tried to bring an end to the grudge between the two families by helping Romeo and Juliet get married. His advice to Juliet to deceive her parents and the solution he provided her against the wedding with Paris leads situations that are out of control. Friar also arriving late to the graveyard leads to both Romeo and Juliet’s death. The Nurse has been the main caregiver for Juliet. This relationship allows Juliet to expresses things that girls usually keep secret. She helps Juliet to be with Romeo then suddenly changes her mind. Therefore the Nurse turning her back on Juliet was very devastating pushing her towards death.…

The blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet could be placed on many different people for many different reasons. Despite all of the characters actions from the play that lead to the young couple's dreadful demise, the real blame should be placed on their society as a whole. The societal expectation of parents picking their child's spouse at the time was the norm, but it wasn't well thought out. If society at the time wasn't so focused on the name attached to the person, their deaths would've been preventable. Finally, if society would take into account the feelings of the people being married and actually pay attention to what both parties want, the deaths of Romeo and Juliet could've been dodged.…

I believe the people in Romeo and Juliet’s lives helped cause their death. One person who helps cause their death was Tybalt. I think he helped cause their death because if he would have stopped trying to fight Romeo, then Romeo wouldn’t have killed him. If Romeo wouldn’t of killed him, then Juliet’s parents wouldn’t of rushed her into marrying Paris, then she wouldn’t of came to Romeo’s father talking about killing herself. Friar Laurence also helped with their deaths because he is the one who gave Juliet the sleeping potion, which made Romeo think he was dead. These are the people I think helped cause Romeo and Juliet’s…

Death is and always will be a hard topic to talk about, especially when someone is to blame. In the play, Romeo and Juliet, written by William Shakespeare, many characters could take responsibility for the deaths of the young lovers, but who is ultimately to blame? In my opinion, Romeo is the main cause of their deaths. He rushed into marriage without thinking ahead as to what they would do or tell their rival families. He then got himself banished from Verona for killing Tybalt, and lastly, instead of moving on from Juliet, he killed himself.…

If Romeo had been there to talk to Juliet he would have known what was going on and he wouldn’t have killed himself because he would have known that Juliet was still alive.
