Who Is The Protagonist In The Birthmark
Being ignorant enough to believe that perfection can be obtained makes main character Aylmer, the antagonist in the story “Birthmark” By Nathaniel Hawthorne. Aylmer can't help but fixate on this wife's birthmark and does not see the other redeeming traits that his wife, Georgiana, possesses. Aylmer, tells his wife “ I am convinced of the perfect practicability of its removal” (Nathaniel, 419). They speaking of removing the birthmark. The usage of the word “perfect” in the quote shows that he isn't thinking about the aspects of the procedure that could go wrong.
