To start off, with when one want’s to gain intelligence it is expected to be permanent to use later in life. In “Flowers for Algernon” Algernon starts to lose information as fast as he was receiving it once he was at the peak of his intelligence.I know this because it says “I put Algernon’s body in a cheese box and I buried him in the back yard. I cried” (Keyes, 240). Then Algernon dies right around the time Charlie is becoming less intelligent, and when he learns of this, and buries Algernon.
