The book basically tells the truth about Winfrey tragic childhood and everything’s she encountered before the world knew who Winfrey really was and how her humble beginning help shape her into the person she is today. Reading her book for the first time influence my way of thinking when it came to my family situations. For example, in her book she talks about dealing with poverty as a child and how her mom was a maid. Oprah didn’t have any friends when she lived on her family farm, she use to catch roaches and put them in jar because her family couldn’t afford a dog.
