Who Is Johnny Depp's 'Black Mass'?
Ever since Black Mass premiered at the Venice Film Festival, Johnny Depp has been surfing a acknowledged wave of Oscar buzz for his chilling performance as real life gangster Whitey Bulger.

According to Depp, though, the actor who has been Oscar nominated for Sweeney Todd. The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Finding Neverland, and Pirates of the Caribbean, The Curse of the Black Pearl has no great interest in acquiring a little gold man.

“I don’t want to win one of those things ever, you know,” Depp told the NewsBeat at the London Film Festival’s Black Mass premiere on Sunday.

His reasons for dodging an Academy Award: “I don’t want to have to talk,” the actor revealed. Last year was the subject of wide spread media criticism, and the actor wasn’t even accepting an award.

EW’s Chris Nashawaty writes that the actor plays the audience like Toscanini.

Nevertheless, Black Mass is not an Oscar bid for the star. Depp has picked up three Best Actor nominations before, for his performances in Sweeney Todd, Finding Neverland, and the first Pirates of the Caribbean film. “They gave me one of those things, like a nomination, two or three times,” he said. “A nomination is plenty.”

“What did I come back from? The dead?” he said. “I haven’t done anything different in this than I have in any other film.” Not all would agree: Nashawaty also said of Depp in his review of Black Mass, “The actor’s really done his homework after playing hooky for what feels like too long.”

As further proof that the Oscar nominee isn’t taking himself too seriously as awards season approaches, the actor will appear in a reality show this fall.

On the November 4 episode of the cable custom car design series Overhaulin’, the actor will appear alongside wife Amber Heard, whose ’68 Mustang will receive the titular

Matt Dillion for example, really sold his performance as racist cop who abuses his authority. Dillon does a good job in showing how his character has a self-realization when he is pulling Thadie Newton’s character out of the burning car. She refuses his help because earlier in the movie he sexual harassed her, but Dillon’s character eventually gets her to put that aside and get her out of the fire. Dillion does an excellent job of showing how his character changed in that scene on how he should not abuse his authority on people. Another actor who did a good job was Ryan Phillippe. He played a cop who always tried to do the right thing but ends up killing a man who he thought had a gun but did not. Phillippe did a good job of showing how is character did the wrong thing when he shoots Larenz Tate’s character Peter. These two scenes show how both actors Matt Dillon and Ryan Phillippe sold their performances as a racist cop and a cop who wants to do the right…

Johnny Depp is one of this generation’s most talented actor. His character development is beyond compare. Johnny Depp has acted in a plethora of movies, but in Benny and Joon and some others, his physical movements are very similar to some very famous silent film actors. Johnny’s character, Sam, is an eccentric one: he’s awkward, silly, and has a very imaginative mind. Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton acted as fathers to Johnny’s acting, leading him to new ideas, more characters in his career, extreme physical movement, and more explosive entertainment. In Benny and Joon, Johnny Depp’s physical reactive, and emotional acting strongly represents Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton.…

Although it was an A-list film, with established stars and first-rate writers—Julius J. Epstein, Philip G. Epstein and Howard Koch received credit for the screenplay—no one involved with its production expected Casablanca to be anything out of the ordinary;[1] it was just one of hundreds of pictures produced by Hollywood every year. The film was a solid, if unspectacular, success in its initial run, rushed into release to take advantage of the publicity from the Allied invasion of North Africa a few weeks earlier.[2] Despite a changing assortment of screenwriters frantically adapting an unstaged play and barely keeping ahead of production, and Bogart attempting his first romantic lead role, Casablanca won three Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Its characters, dialogue, and music have become iconic, and the film has grown in popularity to the point that it now consistently ranks near the top of lists of the greatest films of all time.…
