Who Is Johnny Brave

Freedom lies in being bold, and that is exactly what johnny did this whole time in the Outsiders. There will be an informational talk about johnny being brave, scared, and caring while in the Outsiders. Johnny is brave, caring, scared.
First up is brave and one way the reader can find that he is brave is that he said “I killed that soc.” another way he shows it is “Johnny shoved me towards the window.” when he even just goes home and that even takes courage because his parents do not care about him.“I killed that soc” (pg.56). It shows that he would kill a soc to save his friend. In the church, when the kids are all out and then it is time for johnny and pony to get out themselves. “Johnny shoved me towards the window” (pg.93). It is showing that he would put pony’s safety over his own.
He is getting scared about being jumped like he did a while ago again. At the theater and when they are watching the movie and two bit comes in. “two bit yelled boo and johnny turned white as a ghost” (pg.27). He is very jumpy there and it shows that a little thing can scare him.
Lastly is caring “Stay gold pony stay gold” and “I like it better when my dad hits me than him ignoring me.” at the hospital. “Stay gold pony stay gold” (184). This is showing that he thinks pony is great and while he is dieing he thinks of his friend not him self. When he is saying to pony that he would rather his dad hit him than him ignoring him because he does not even know he exists. “I like it better when my dad hits me than him ignoring me” (pg.51). That he still cares about his dad even though his dad does not care about
