'Whit Episode Analysis: Welcoming Wooten'
As I sat here in my wonderful apartment, snuggled up in a comfortable chair with a nice

comfortable blanket wrapped around me with a fake fireplace “burning” the logs on my large television. I turned on my kindle to listen to a great radio show called Adventures in Oydssey, (http://www.whitsend.org). There many episodes that with many characters that

do scenarios. After the show, there is a summary on how we as Christians can relate to this

particular episode and there is a reference to a particular verse in the bible. This particular

episode is called “Welcoming Wooten.” The theme or subtitle is about being fired from the job.

There two main characters that are named “Whit,” the owner of the store. Just a side

Finally summation of the episode has “Whit” resolved this great conflict with the greatest

solution. I just wish and pray that I would always find these great people. “Whit” solution was to

have “Wooten” to come work for him at his store. This way, “Wooten” could always have a

people relationship with the customers and he could greet them with his calm, cheerful and a

bright smile greeting like “Hello, Welcome to Whit's Store, How are you?”

One procedure to resolve a conflict is called TRIP. Topic of this conflict was “Wooten”

getting fired because he is a people person, who loved people and will do anything to assist

regardless of consequences. Relationship was very good with all the people that he came in

contact with. There was a good relationship with the store owner and it's employees. There was

was no bad feelings between “Whit,” “Wooten,” and the “Boss.” The relationship with his

Without going deep into his mindset. I am beginning to

wonder how his previous people relationships had affected his latest episodes of not being able to hold a job either by being fired or quitting a job.

I had the pleasure of working and dealing with numerious of people in a supervisory role.

After further review, these people are really nice, kindest and genuine, within their heart, and will do anything for you. They are usually alone and do not love themselves. Depending on how

I was counciling or was going to let them go, I will try to let them know that they are not alone.

My scriptural verse that I use to give me support, 1 John 4:18 (KJV), “There is no fear in love;

but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” I would highly recommend the radio show, Adventure of Odssey. This show is for the

youth, but the adults can enjoy the show, too. There are always excellent stories that always end

with summary with a referenced on how we can use show in our everyday experince of being a

Christian. The show also gives a verse from the bible to be use and help start a conversation with

your love ones and

Tom was a loyal worker of mine before he passed away. He has been my best worker within days from when I employed him. He would work as hard anyone else I had ever employed if not harder, even though he had only one good arm. When Tom was just twelve, he had gotten his left hand stuck in a cotton gin and tore all the muscles loose from his arm. His arm was destroyed in this accident and it had never been in use since. But remarkably, he still managed to pick cotton faster than many of my other workers. Tom worked so efficiently and in the eight years that he worked for me, not once did he cause any trouble. Not once. My other workers would cause all sorts of problems, but Tom did not cause one. He just ignored them and did the tasks that I had set him, and did them well.…

Future situations like this can be avoided by educating GMs around the laws as it relates to Employment-At-Will. Prior to any decisions being made in a similar manner, GM’s will need to partner with HR to prepare them to make decisions around this and informing them how decisions may be communicated to store employees. Additionally they should be instructed on how to make an assessment regarding who is terminated.…

After waiting 5 minutes for an associate to notice me in the area of my OOS item, I located an associate 2 minutes later in the main aisle of the store. He greeted me with a sincere "How can I help you today?" when I requested assistance. I asked about whether the OOS item in stock and he confirmed that the item was not in stock by using his communicator. He then checked for availability at other local Lowe's stores. He told me which ones had this item available and how many the store had available. After asking, "Is there anything else that I can help you with?," The associate told me that if I had any other questions, he will be around to…

During the conversation between Ron Davis – the relatively new general manager of the machine tooling group at Parker Manufacturing and Mike – a plant manager who reported to Ron, Ron had violated some principles of supportive communication and supportive listening. First of all, Ron had violated Descriptive and Problem-Oriented principles. For example, Ron expressed his thinking and opinion about what Mike did and stated Mike’s personalities: “I think you’re too chummy with some of your female personnel” or “I think you’re creating a substandard impression by not wearing a tie” and “Having things in disarray reflects poorly on you.” Ron also violated Validating and Supportive Listening principle. For instance, Ron said he felt strongly about the issues he had mentioned regardless of Mike’s opinions and need Mike to correct.…

Another example that illustrates the question of fear or love can be applied to education. Throughout your school life you strive to do well and achieve good grades. You do this because you want to be successful later on in life and attain a good job. The fear of not being able to be accepted into a recognized university or having a good profession is what keeps you studying and paying attention in class. If your hard work did not pay off or there were no consequences to failing exams I honestly believe the majority of students would not attempt to do well in…

Even though he swears up and down that he is always nice and kind to the workers, his kindness and niceness are conditional. If he hasn't had much sleep or has had a hard day at work, you can bet your bottom dollar, someone is going to be in tears when all is said and done. And when he is tired and stressed, to put it nicely, run. The usual workers at Macy's were not there that night. Typically, you have a mousy and timid brown haired female college student, who startles at any sudden movement. Then there is a boisterous, red-haired twenty-something man, who my dad likes the best, and last is a tall and very skinny Arab man, who glares if you don't put the display shoes back right. That night there was a very rotund black man, who looked like he needed to get measured for a bra. He had a small, flat head, which was supported by a neck covered in rolls of fat. His ears reminded me of the Disney film Dumbo, but despite all of this, he seemed to be a very nice person. Unfortunate for him, one of his last customers for the night was my…

    Employment and Great Idea

    • 959 Words

The beginning of the story presents us with a typical situation. The self-esteem and moral of the workforce is very low. Employees just care about showing up, doing the minimum they have to do to get by, and get paid at the end of the week. Little concern is given over each other and also the product. The supervisor, Joe Mode, is caught between upper management and the workers. He takes most of the responsibilities on himself which leads a busy and very stressful work environment. When Ralph Rosco, one of his employees, attempts to talk to him about a great idea, he immediately dismisses it since it isn't one of Ralph's responsibilities and that if it was that great, the research and development team already would have figured it out.…
