Where Is Rikki Alike
Would you have risked your life to save a friend? Rikki thought to himself, “If I don’t break his back at the first jump he can still fight; and if he fights—O Rikki!” As we say “The most important things in life aren't things” - Anthony J. D’Angelo
Rikki Tikki is a brave character in this story. In one example, Rikki said to Nag, “Do you think it is right for you to eat fledglings out of a nest?”(para 25). Rikki Tikki stands up for his friend Darzee to let Nag know that he made a bad choice. Darzee now knows that Rikki is a good friend that will never let him down. For instance “Rikki-Tikki felt his eyes growing red and hot.” (para 31). This implies Rikki was furious at Nagaina because she dodged his bite and Rikki only got her tail. Rikki is brave when it comes to fighting an enemy, but his anger also comes out in a fight with a rival. Rikki Tikki is courageous and stands up for his friends.
Nagaina, another character in the story is vicious. “ Go in quietly, and remember that the big man who killed Karait is the first one to bite.”(para 49). Nagaina is fierce and wants to kill Rikki’s friends. Nagaina is also fierce when it comes to fighting, but Nagaina fights because she is

In one case, Nagaina says, “Let us talk, You eat eggs. Why should not I eat birds?” (para 27). As a result Nag is acting like a mature adult in this sentence trying to compromise, why it is ok to eat birds. This shows anthropomorphism that Nag cares more about his hunger than Darzee's baby. For evidence, Rikki says to Nagaina, “Come and fight with me.”(para 92). Rikki Tikki is reckless and is showing a personification by asking Nagaina to fight with him. Rikki Tikki is courageous and is protecting his friends from Nagaina the vicious snake. In this story a lot of the animals have human characteristics who will put up a fight for their

The Mongoose was fed raw meat in the movie unlike the book, the mongoose being fed a banana. The description was a bit broad in the movie. The description of the setting, plot, objects, and other items were very plain. Unlike the story which involved highly detailed items in the story. At the beginning of the video the setting was broad also. During the snake attack the author described how the snake was shot dead by the father. The video shows the mongoose hiding. After he was ready he jumped and attacked the snake until it dies a few minutes after the fight. The video had a very different way of the story than the written version of Rikki Tikki Tavi.…

(SIP-A) Before the Taliban kidnapped Baba-Jan and Nur, Najmah wasn’t very helpful, and was very childish with her fear of imaginary leopards. (STEWE-1) Her mother had to help her overcome her fear, but it didn’t fix anything, as Mada-Jan says, “Stop trying to scare her! Najmah, you know there are no leopards around here. Now hurry, you two! Still I hesitate”(5). This clearly shows how gullible and childish Najmah is with her imaginary fear of leopards. In fact it is so bad, her mother has to comfort her and constantly tell her that they are not real. (STEWE-2) As Mada-Jan tells Najmah “You are a good and brave girl, she says, stroking my face. I don’t feel brave, but I don’t trust my voice to speak”(9). This shows that not only her mother has to comfort her, but it also doesn’t help her feel any better about the leopards. But once Nur and Baba-Jan were kidnapped, that all changed. (SIP-B) Najmah was doing lots of work around the house, and lost her fear of leopards. (STEWE-1) As Najmah says herself “I have forgotten my childish quarrels with Nur - I am no longer angry with him for scaring me about the leopard, and for saying I…

For example, she wanted to get rid of all the people in the bungalow by killing them, and felt no remorse at all. Later, after Nag’s death, Nagaina was very close to attacking Teddy, until Rikki-tikki came in from behind to save him. “Son of the big man that killed Nag,…

The issue of racial conflict has caused great controversy for many centuries. Conflict which is incited by racism is often thought to be the worst of all conflicts because it is unfounded and based on utterly false beliefs. In society today, there are many racist people who put down and almost ostracize the people of another community. In Joy Kogawa's novel, Obasan, the issue of racism is discussed through the various letters kept by Obasan which in turn provides a first-hand look at was done to Naomi's family. In Obasan, there are many instances where the Joy Kogawa uses images of animals, such as insects, kittens and especially chickens to support a general theme of dehumanization. Also these animals always seem to correspond to human beings, whether they are generalized groups or individual characters. In other words, it is very apparent to see the foreshadowing of the story and also the close connection between the animals in the story and the human condition of the story, through the use of these vivid images of the animals.…

Throughout the whole story, Nagaina's motive was murder. She was attempting to murder the human family, and also attempting to murder Rikki-Tikki. "Rikki-Tikki-Tavi" is an insight on a mongoose, named Rikki-Tikki, and how he defeats two malicious cobras, Nag and Nagaina. When a family adopted Rikki-Tikki and brought him into their bungalow, Rikki-Tikki explored their garden and met two tailorbirds, Darzee and his wife. He had heard their cry and approached, asking what is the matter. They answered with grieve, for two cobras who go by Nag, had eaten one of their babies. As Rikki-Tikki asked who Nag was, a slither came, and there stood Nag. While facing Nag, Nag stalled by talking to Rikki-Tikki and distracting him from Nag. Luckily, Darzee warns Rikki-Tikki and jumps as high as he could into the air, just enough so that the head of Nagaina, the wife of Nag, whizzed by. Nagaina soon formulates a plan into murdering the humans, but soon the valiant Rikki-Tikki defeats both Nag and Nagaina. Based on these examples, Nagaina can be characterized as evil. I would understand why Nagaina would attempt to murder the humans, despite that, I feel pity for her. She had lost her husband and many of her eggs. I understand why she would attempt to kill the humans, after believing they have murdered Nag, her husband. Nagaina connects to the theme of the story, since Rikki-Tikki must overcome his fear and fight off Nag and Nagaina, who are bigger and stronger than he…
