When is the best time to trust God? When things are difficult, or when everything goes well?
When is the best time to trust God? When things are difficult, or when everything goes well?

In these past few days, I have been too busy working or studying for our upcoming examinations. But before that, we had a lot of time we did not know that would just passed by us, without even informing us that it would quickly fly and then be gone. During those times, I was just enjoying myself using those free times playing my gadgets, sometimes doing the assignments and most of the time sleeping or eating. I did not realize that I have wasted so much time that instead I used for studying, I used it for nothing. But still, I talk to God every morning and every night thanking him for everything he has done for me and for my family.

Even on those good times, I know God is with me. Also on those bad times, I know God is with me. With the question “When is the best time to trust God?” I would say, each time is the best time to trust God. Even when things go well, God can be trusted that he will stay by our sides. He can be trusted that with every laughter, He will be there to guide us until we ran out of breath from laughing. Even if we are on our recreations, He will be there and He is willing to help and fulfill our leisure. When we are having fun and we don’t seem to be carrying our problems, God is still there and can be trusted. And on the bad times, everyone knows that God did not ever leave anyone alone while they are on their bad times. Even if others put the blame on God, He still has not hesitated to help them. Especially in those times when we cannot stand anymore or we cannot lift our eyes anymore from having too much problems, He is willing to help us.

I, as one of the children of God, know that I would not be left out. I know that I can trust Him anytime because of the fact that he is the Almighty God, who is there wherever I go, who can do everything He wants for His child’s safety and who knows

After writing the prayer journal, I went into the bathroom to pray. This was because I didn't want to disturb my roommate. I asked God to grant me the grace to be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry because I realized that I was guilty of this. I asked The Lord for faith with deeds because as humans, we naturally believe only the things we see. I prayed to The Lord to anoint my tongue so that it won't be used wrongly. I prayed for humility because I realized that nothing is received except given to him/her by God. The total time I spent praying was about five…

We human being can never survive the challenges that we faced without the guidance of our almighty God. We should keep in our mind that we are nothing without the guidance of God. We should also be thankful to the blessings that we receive. Just like what Odysseus did, he forgot to thank Poseidon for helping him in the battle of Trojan…

I think that we may safely trust a good deal more than we do. We may waive just so much care of ourselves as we honestly bestow elsewhere. Nature is as well adapted to our weakness as to our strength . . . How vigilant we are! determined not to live by faith if we can avoid it; all the day long on the alert, at night we unwillingly say our prayers and commit ourselves to uncertainties . . . All change is a miracle to contemplate; but it is a miracle which is taking place every instant.(606)…

    Psalm 121 Analysis

Psalm 121, usually recited in any time of danger or potentially dangerous situations, describes the importance of attaining G-d even at the greatest of heights and to ascend to His “glorious Presence.” This can only be achieved when man forsakes his faith in earthly powers and lifts his “eyes up to the hills,” toward G-d. We should all have the strength and confidence to ascend to G-d, even at the most troubling of times. In return, G-d will “not let our foot slip” and will guard us for all eternity. It is pertinent that in our lives, we should only turn to G-d for assistance, rather than look around to earthly powers in search of help.…

The commandment coming from a sovereign God “Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about,” are words strike our hearts, and give us a sense of immorality and brutality from God. As we read these lines for the first time, we do not recognize that we do not know Abraham, we do not know God, yet we set ourselves capable of judging such situation with our mere minds. Nonetheless, in the book of Genesis on chapter 22, there is more than meets the eye. There in those paragraphs the heart of every man can rebel against God for his cruel request. However, this God which the bible speaks about, says himself “for my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55: 8-9). Meaning then, that such request from God had such a divine plan that it can be ignored at first glance.…

I wanted to know more of God and the church, I attended Sunday worship regularly, to know the community of God’s people. During the process, I begin to read the Bible to discovery for myself God on my own time, and his influence in my life. During the time of my visit, I wanted to know the source of the church’s joy. As I studied the Bible, I begin to understand the people’s joy is a result of Jesus’s sacrifice. Through his death, we are given worth, and receive salvation. In my reading of Bible, I gained the insight of my rebellious nature and I needed Christ Jesus to make me whole.…

Spiritual disciplines should be necessary part of every Christian’s life. Growing up with a preacher as a father, he instilled in us the importance of the spiritual disciplines. Of the many spiritual disciplines there is a certain few that my parents instilled in their children and in everyday life. As children my parents and all of us kids would have a daily prayer time together. Now as we all know getting older and more involved in things in our lives, it became increasingly harder to continue on with that daily prayer time all together. Though it was hard we all knew the importance of prayer itself and prayer as a family. The old saying says “a family that prays together stays together,” well truer words have never been spoken for my family. Like all families there will be trials and tribulations, and it was only through the power of prayer that we were able to get through it. Had it not been for a praying family I would not be here today. In 2008 Hurricane Gustav hit Louisiana. Though very devastating to many, it was more devastating to my family and I. That Labor Day could have been a day I lost my life. Hurricane Gustav put three trees through the house where my family and I lived. That day was one of the scariest days of my life. One of the trees fell on our house and trapped me in a back room. The first word I could say was Jesus. I could almost feel his hand of protection on me. I know that it was nothing but God that got me out of that situation. I cannot thank him enough for his hand of protection on my life.…

In believe as a Christian it is important to have good character traits, so that you can represent Jesus in a good way towards non-believers. It is our job to bring non-believers in and show them the correct path. So the way u act and respond in certain situations will be looked at from the world and you want them to make others ask the question of what makes you different. Fast and Feast

Over the course of this five-day period I have gained much more experience than I thought I would. On the first day of this project I thought it would be easy and did not try to hard to complete my fasting feasting statement of fasting on complaining and feasting on appreciation. As I reflected on the day, I found that I complained even more than I thought. I didn’t realize it as it was happening but while reflecting, I realized how often I do it without noticing. At the end of the day I vowed to work more on the appreciation part of the project and over the next four days I tried to do so. On Wednesday, I was appreciative and prayed like I said I would. When I found that I was appreciative I just said a small thank you to God and I was proud of all the feasting that I had done. However, I found that even though I was appreciative I was still complaining. One of the things we, as Christians, are asked to do during Lent is make a sacrifice that will help us focus on resisting worldly distractions. Although complaining is not what you would normally think of as a worldly distraction such as TV or the computer, it still distracts me from God. During the first two days I realized that I had to balance my appreciation and complaining. I could not focus wholly on one or else I would forget about the other.…
