What Was The Causes Of World War I

World War Ⅰ was a war that affected the whole world, it caused many countries to go bankrupt and created more than one new rivalry between countries in the process. Eighteen different countries involved in World War I, and that is not counting all of the colonies belonging to the involved countries that were forced to give financial and/or militaristic support. There were situations that led up to and caused World War I but three of the main reasons were Balkan nationalism, entangling alliances, and militarism. Balkan nationalism was one of the major causes of World War I. Balkan is a peninsula in Southeast Europe, it contains Greece, Turkey, Albania, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia, Moldova, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia, and Herzegovina. Britain, France, and few other countries were interested in the territorial gain of this section of Europe since right on the border of the East and West. Right before World War I a big part of Europe was going through a phase where no one wanted to be behind in the military standards, each country wanted to be the best. Germany started it by improving their navy because they were afraid Britain was going to try to attack. A lot of the countries in Europe were competing to see which could make the best new weapon, and things were getting really tense. Especially since Germany was doing so well, and had made an alliance with Austria-Hungary.
There were many causes for World War I including the reasons above, though there are many more as well. World War I was a huge war which means it had huge reactions and a huge buildup.
