What type of learner am I
What type of learner am I !

Hi, my name is Thomas James and I will like to tell you some things about my self. I know I learn different from others but when I put a little more time in my work it will probably come out good. Most of the time I look around to get inspired so I can focus when I find something I put all my ideas on paper. I’m connected to education by trying my hardest to focus and think in my mine I can do thins and I do like in math. When I’m in math it seem like I already know all the stuff the teacher is teaching. Also I really like to learn with visuals of different examples.

Therefore, when I see the visual I can probably learn a lot from it. But mostly when I start using the format they show us I can get it down pat. Also, if I can do it I can show other people how to do it and I can probably show my self other ways to learn the steps. But, most likely I can get it down by the first time. I also, learn by teachers speaking to me with more information. If I still need help I’ll ask the teacher can I come after school for help because I hardly get it in class.

After all, I sometimes stay on task when I’m in class most likely I’m doing my work like some people that I know. When do my work I try to finish it but the teachers said we can not go on. But when the other people in the class not focusing the teacher ask who finished on what they tell us to work on, when you are, they will move on. If your not finished you will have to skip the question and you will have to come after school to finish it. When you do they going to ask why you didn’t get it down, that’s when you give your valuable reason to why you didn’t get the notes. Also, they get even madder because you weren’t paying attention and have to catch in notes. So, when I’m in class I try my hardest to stay caught with notes. Most, of the time they say you better look in your text book to get the rest of the notes. When they say that they are going to put you in academic support for not paying attention. I had to learn very hard because I use to almost pay attention.

Even though, it is tough to pay attention in a big class I still try my hardest to block the excess noise out. Also, my teachers most likely talk to the people they see that are trying to pay attention. Like I asked my teacher can sit up front so I can really focus on what they are saying. But, when the class is over I go up to the teacher to see if I can do extra credit. So if I missed anything the extra credit points will make up for it.

During school most kids are not huge fans of learning new things. Especially things that they believe will never come back into their lives. Now if I were to answer the same question I would say that I learn better when I am able to see the behavior being preformed. When I read about the behavior I tend to lose interest and I have a hard time visualizing what is actually supposed to be done. It also takes me longer to learn the behavior if I read it rather than when I am able to see it being preformed and am possibly able to try to perform it myself.…

Samarth, some students don't understand this. They believe that studying means reading over class notes that they have copied from the whiteboard over the term. In fact, the definition of 'study' that I have explained to you above involves much more than reading notes. It involves answering questions related to your subject, whether those questions come…

Many times, teachers want a student to just push back the information that was taught. Both my history class and phycology class was like that so I made flashcards to remember definitions. There was not really a need to go beyond that for I knew I was not going to get tested that way. Moreover, when it comes to a classes like math I never had to remember definitions it is all about actually doing the work. I always turn my phone off when it comes to studying because I know that I will stop studying to read a text or see a notification which interrupts my concentration on the subject. When I study, I try to go someplace quite so I can concentrate. Some people like to place music; but that is something I cannot due because I get to easily distracted. I am someone who has always struggled when it comes to math so I do fall into the category of believing there are some students who are inheritably good at certain subjects. This is a belief that is an excuse, as the professor alludes to, for me not to study harder for the class. A way to change that would be for me to carve out time and study more for the classes I do not like. For me it is easy to study history because I like it and sometimes I do spend too much time studying for that subject because I like it and not enough in the subjects I struggle in because they do not interest…

A class dedicated on teaching a student to remain focused and take accurate notes in lectures would be beneficial to all the daydreamers, doodlers and dozers who can't listen to a teacher and stay focused on the words coming out of her mouth. I know the effects all too well. As my teacher begins her daily rant, I shut my mind off and let it wander around the room. I see students snoring in the corner and others doodling in their notebook or flinging notes to each other as slyly as possible. I smile at their antics in relieving the exhausting boredom of a class like this. Only a handful of students are actually listening to the teacher and it is evident that they rather be anywhere else doing anything else. With lunch just ten minutes…

In my 8th grade year of school I struggle a lot on it, well I didn’t really struggle I mostly didn’t want to do the work until the last minute. I would give my tutor a hard time but she never gave up but I never wanted to do my work and when I did it would be the night before or it would’ve been in my class trying to do it as fast as I can. What I would do is always hang out with my friends and when and not do it but when I would do it then it was when my friends weren’t around. When it got down to the last quarter it was on the last day that anyone was able to turn in late work so they can walk the stage but that same day I got late and got in school suspension and I got mad because i didn’t think that I would cross because I had that thing…
