Question 3 what reading have you enjoyed most in the past year and why?

The reading I have enjoyed the most in the past year is ‘To kill a mocking bird’ by Harper Lee. The story’s main theme is about racial discrimination and gender inequality. It used a child’s point of view to tell the story so I can throw myself into the main character Scout. Thanks to her naivety, the injustice and the hypocrisy of Maycomb folks are enhanced. The most exciting part of the story is the fight in the court. Scout’s father is a lawyer and he is trying to fight for a black man. Although I expect there will be a courageous character to stand up and correct the bias but it comes out as a bad ending, which prejudice is imposed. However I can still sense that the author is trying to tell us what is wrong and what is right. If I have to use a word to describe the story, the word would probably be: Amazing. My emotion flows with the story, and every detail is mentioned clearly, Harper’s writing is really coherent as well. I was reminded that “Your never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view…Until you climb inside of skin and walk around in it.” This is an absolute delight reading and I highly recommend others to read.
